Are collectors releasing more guns?

A wise man for sure!

I've been trying to re-educate my two sons about the values of my gun & knife collections for the last couple of years.

One of them about crapped his pants when I told him what my Vietnam era Randall #1 is selling for now!

And some of the guns?
They didn't have a clue a $100 gun they shot as kids is now a $1,000 gun!

They're coming from dead guys, almost dead guys, and relatives of dead guys. The ones desperate for money have already sold theirs during the '08 recession/depression.

I occasionally help out a friend who owns a local gun shop, hey it keeps me busy doing things I enjoy. Anyway aside from estates as the elderly pass on (and at 64 I am not quite young anymore) there seems to be a mass of people out there who when the economy and jobs are good buy and stockpile guns. Many of these people, in my observation, live paycheck to paycheck. As soon as a layoff comes or the economy tanks the first possessions to be sold off are the guns. Frequently at about half of what they are worth. The guns can be older collectables or late manufacture but they all get sold off.

Just My Take....
