I noticed that every few years, I get the itch for an AR-15 so I buy one and then eventually sell it. There are a few other guns that I keep finding myslef buying but not likeing enough to keep them long term. S&W 36s seem to come and go as do Ruger MKIIs.

I used to have a thing for H&R 999 top-break .22 revolvers. Can't explain it. I'd get one, shoot it awhile, then sell it or use it for trading material. A year or two later, I'd find myself wanting another inexpensive yet tough .22, and pick up another one.

I think I went through 7 or so of them.

Regards,
Rabbit.

M/N M44's - @ $50 each (or so) it is hard to pass up.

I just keep telling Mrs. L. that they are for my Cub Scout Den to use as hot dog roasters over the campfire :D  .

Only guns i've ever gotten rid of have mal-functioned in some way.

Got no place for a gun that don't work right =)

So.... no... tend to just keep the one's i buy =)

J/Tharg!

Several

Some I buy and keep, Mosins, Stevens 311's, Mausers.

Some I buy knowing I'll be giving them away, Marlin/Glenfield mod60's.

Some I buy and for whatever reason they go away, Glocks and Keltecs.

Let's see. Repeat purchases.

AR variants.
Walther pistols.
10/22 variants.
Sako rifles.
1911 variants.
S&W revos.

Yep. If the first one is good, you'll probably buy another. :D

357 Magnum revolvers. I really enjoy revolvers, particularly S&W revolvers, but I can't hit the broadside of a barn with them. Spoiled on 1911's I guess.
I just traded my M686 for a CZ-83 and am much happier with results, especially at the range. Prior to the M686, I had a 586 and a Rossi snubbie. All sufferred from the same ailment, an inabilty to hit the target beyond 7-8 yards. Most likely the cause is pilot error, but the result is owning a gun I can't use. If I can't put a gun in the regular rotation somewhere, it gets sold or traded.

However, A six-inch barrelled, adjustable sight, S&W target 38 Special would give me an excuse to use the uncounted boxes of 38spl brass that are sitting around because there is no 38 Special to load for.

I have quite a number of ARs. Why? For each upper there must be a lower. Besides, who wants only half a gun? :uhoh:  :p

I get the compact bug from time to time. They seem to make sence at the time and then I don't shoot or carry them and trade them off for bigger guns.
I Like BIG Guns.:D

I can't just buy one of any gun. I have to buy two. Strange.

I have bought and sold 870s, 10/22s, and SW 686s multiple times. I forget what I don't like about them until I own them again.

I'm on my third luger, fourth 1911A1, fourth BHP, second 1903, second Radom, second Webley, but I'm doing better.

Well, discounting CZ75s and 1911s in general, I've bought or traded into two Glock 23s, a 686 and a 686+, two 10/22s and several P32s.

Most of the subsequent copies were traded into at deals too good to pass up.

Now, on the topic of 1911s and CZs... :p

Ruger Mk II's and 22/45's

Bought my first MkII about 6 years ago. Kept it for about 2 years, then traded it with a red dot mounted on it for a Ruger P89.

Bought a 22/45 a while later, because I missed my .22. Sold it to a buddy about a year ago so I could buy a paintball gun. Paintball was great for a while, but friends started losing interest.

I got to "visit" my old 22/45 the other night, and realized how much I want it back. My buddy won't part with it, so I think my paintball gear is going to the classifieds...

When I buy my next Ruger .22, I'll keep it this time  .

REbuying . . . noooo. But there are some guns I have severa of:

M1911s --

I have a "Kit Built" Fed Ord (they send you a hunk of steel and tell you to file away everything that doesn't look like an M1911A1)

I also have an M1927 Argentine and a Kimber Custom Classic (the latter is my carry gun.)

.22 Caliber Conversion kits for M1911s --

The Fed Ord is currently wearing a Ciener kit, the M1927 wears a Colt Ace kit.

Springfields --

2 M1903A3s (one Remington, one Smith-Corona)
A customized '03 in .35 Brown-Whelen
An M1922 MKII (in .22 LR, naturally)

.22s --

At last count, I had 5 rifles and 4 handguns (counting the two coversion kits.)

.30-06s --

I have five -- the two M1903A3s, an M1, a pre-64 Winchester Model 70, and a Ruger M77 MKI

Kimbers --

Two M82s (one in .22 LR and one in .22 Hornet)
The aforementioned Custom Classic.

SKS's. I bought one a few years back. Sold it to my uncle. Bought another one, traded it for a digital camera. Next month I will probably buy another one. Hopefully I'll keep this one.

I will get the itch to buy a compact-sized weapon. Most of mine are either full-size or pocket size.
I will get the compact, shoot it for a while, convince myself that A-it's not much easier to conceal than a full-size, B-I really do shoot the full-size much better, and C-why do I keep this one in the safe so often when most of my carry is pocket?

Current victim is a LNIB Glock 29 that I got for a song. Shot it in an IDPA match this weekend, don't know how long its gonna last.

Yep...CCW guns. I keep looking for the perfect carry gun. I can't seem to find a 22 round capacity .454 Casull, semi-auto, 10 oz., pistol that will fit in my front pocket and blend in with my pocket change.

So, I keep buying (And selling) small compact carry guns to find the next best thing.

I can't get it through my thick skull that with CCW guns, you will always rob Peter to pay Paul somewhere.
