I can't believe the deals and availability when it comes to AR 15s and parts.

PSA has been having mind-blowing deals on AR 15s, LPKs, upper assemblies, you name it.

ALL day yesterday Bravo Company had their prized BCGs available. In the past, these things would have sold out in a matter of minutes.

Is it possible that all kinds of AR demand got pulled forward, and now we are seeing a crash in prices coupled with high availability?????

Barring any more Sandy Hooks, I'm betting that BCM BCGs will be back down to the $160s before the end of the year.

Yep I agree with what the General said and to all who bought ar 15s or parts to make a huge profit I say :neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::neener::D

AR prices have been back to "normal" for quite a while, now.
And, I'm glad BCM stop the "forced" NRA donation stunt they were pulling for a long time.

AR-15 prices never truly went up however what some people were willing to pay to get one did.

At the shop I work at we never raised our prices on AR's during the panic because our cost on them never went up. We couldn't keep the AR's we did get in stock for more than a day during the height of the panic but that's long over and now it's ammo we can't keep in stock.

Our local 'no haggle' shop never raised his prices (and he has good prices).
Like everyone else, they cleaned him out of ARs - supply started replenishing around 2 months ago - he now has over 60 in stock. I'm sure he's probably scaled back his orders.

It's been back for a while. I remember a few months ago a friend of mine wanted an AR and we were going to the gun show, I told him good luck with that because either they won't have any or the ones they have will be sky high.....turns out there were thousands of ARs there and he walked out with a new M&P15 (not the cheap sport model) for a grand and I had to take the foot out of my mouth.

I sold all my AR and M1A stuff during the panic. At auction they sold for double what I paid for them. Remember its only scalping if YOU set the price, not the customer. At auction the buyers set the price. Glad I sold it all. Now I can rebuy a PSA AR and an AK for what my Delton AR sold for 6 months ago. People are silly.

New ARs from low end DPMS up to the $2500 custom built rifles have been dropping like a rock for at least 2 months. The local Walmart has had the same 3-4 guns for two weeks now where they were selling them as soon as they hit the rack. My favorite LGS has about 50 new ones but zero used ARs because people are trying to sell the Bushmaster Carbon 15 they paid $1200 for and they want to get their money back. NEWS FLASH! That gun can be had for less than $700 at most big box stores.
I have started seeing some 9mm and most other calibers on the shelves. .22lr is still non-existent around here and I have not seen a brick since December. I have bought 9mm FMJ for $.22-$.24 a round from Walmart and Academy within the last month.

Thats what they called, Too much of a good thing is bad for you. The 5.56 is overhyped for the most part pumped by AR builders and paid writers in the last 20 odd years. And fueled lately by the panic craze. So almost everyone wants a piece of this black rifle and there goes the insatiable demand and cost of 5.56 supply. Then all things fell apart as we see it.

Time to get an AK 74 or 47 and you will still be shooting with no let up. The ammo on them are still going strong and affordable.

That's because we discerning shooters don't want to shoot that el-cheapo, junky crap!

You're just not sophisticated enough to join "The Club"!!

AR's and most centerfire ammo is available locally. The prices are still slightly high, but you could buy 500 rounds of 9mm or 5.56 right now if you wanted to.
But .22 ammo... ain't much of that around. I saw some this past weekend priced at $50-$60 per 500 rounds. The guy had PLENTY of it (because his prices are too high to move it). I almost bought something that was almost reasonabily priced, but didn't out of principle.

I just got my 3rd sale paper of the month from CDNN in my email...

COLT Match Target - $999
COLT 6920 - $1099
COLT 6720MP - $1150
COLT SOCOM - $1299

Windam - $799
Bushmaster - $899
Rock River Arms - $899

Rifles are pretty much back to pre election prices if you know where to look.

Ammo is as well, but it sells out fast as the scalpers are still on a buying and re-selling frenzy (espc on the local boards in my area)... but they will fall by the wayside once people start looking around and seeing the online availibility is comming up.

sgammo had case quanitites of PMC Bronze 223A for .38 a round last week and it sold out in 2 days. They still have 7.62X39 for like .25 a round.

Stuff is comming back to normal.... only took 6 months this time.

Like others I am seeing "used" ARs never fired for sale by owner advertising that they are only trying to get what they paid $1200 for a pieced together $700 rifle. I am glad now that I made the decision to learn to shoot well what few guns I have instead of spending all my money on an overpriced gun that I could not find ammo for.

I had a conversation with a friend in the middle of the panic that hadn't shot any if his guns in over 6 months because he was buying extra guns and couldn't afford or find ammo. He was happy to sit on his "stash".

thanks to all of you that bought all my ar parts, pieces, reloading supplies, mags etc. can't believe how much money i cleared--and that's after offering stuff at auctions starting at .01cent.:D

I had thought about taking advantage of people and their paranoia during the scare...but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I mean we trash sites like CTD that do it but often overlook the private sellers.

Yep - I have a friend that couldn't wait after Sandy Hook and got a DPMS during the panic for $1200...

When he was looking at it, I told him a DPMS was a $650 rifle, just wait it out, keep that $1200 handy because in 6-7 months he could buy a COLT for that $$$$.... Of course he bought into the sellers "AR-15's are gonna get banned" speach....

I sent him a copy of CDNN's 2nd flyer of the month last week.

Can't wait for the ammo bubble to burst next!

Don't hold your breath. Just as in 2008, prices will return to a "normal" that is higher than it was before the panic. Unlike the rifles, ammo is a consumable, and will always be in demand. I expect availability will return to what it was this time in 2012 by mid 2014, but we're not likely to see $300 cases of brass 5.56 again.
