Shotgun Acquisition Disorder strikes here in America every day.
Heck, it strikes ME that often.
It's the feeling that even when the second safe is getting crowded, there's just one more _____ you need.
Of course, need and want are synonyms here.
It can look a little excessive to an outsider, though. One friend has enough short barrelled, mid grade 20 gauge SxS Parkers he has to stop and think about the numbers when asked, and is looking for more.
A member here has four fine old riot guns, all classic designs, and mentioned by PM how he wants more such.
Or it could be a specialized, niche shotgun. Like an "Up close, small bird, short shot window, small shot" shotgun for a grouse hunt that causeth thy palms to perspire.
It could be the one you wanted when you were 12.
Or the one you HAD at that age.
Or more general in nature. One fine fellow here at work has, within the last couple years, bought.....
A 3901.
An 870 Express.
A BPS.
A Franchi O/U.
Two Beretta White Onyx O/Us, his in 12, hers in 20. She outshoots him, but she does let him borrow the 20.
His youngest shoots my little NEF 12, cut to fit a young shooter.
He wants my SKB if I decide to sell it, which is unlikely.
Maybe your next one is a bespoke Purdey, a converted Saiga, or a no name single shot 410.
Maybe it's a Sterlingworth like your Grandpa's that your cousin has now.
Maybe it's an old Police gun as a base for a tactical build.
Maybe a Kolar, Kreighoff or Blaser.
Maybe all of the above.
There's no vaccine for SAD. No cure, no 12 step program. That's the good news.
Come on,admit it. You do have at least one MORE in mind, don't you?
