SB1331, Gives CCW permit holders an exemption for possession of a weapon on school grounds
A person commits misconduct involving weapons by engaging in certain actions of carrying a weapon on public or private school grounds. SB1331 would grant an exemption to parents of enrolled students, and would also prohibit school districts from adopting or enforcing policies that prohibit or restrict parents who possess a valid CCW permit from carrying or transporting on or in schools.

While it may seem to be a safety issue to the anti-rights crowd, this bill would make it possible to not have to handle and unload your firearm in or around a school, and it is a fact that those two actions are a large cause of negligent discharge. A firearm in a secure holster is practically immune from discharge negligently!

SB1331 will be heard tomorrow afternoon, February 8, by the Senate Education committee and the committee members need to hear from you to move the bill forward.

SB1109, Removes firearm suppressors from the definition of "prohibited weapons".

Despite being legal under Arizona law, suppressors, AKA "silencers" remain listed as "prohibited weapons". SB1109 would remove them from that list and clean up a legal loophole that could make otherwise law-abiding citizens into criminals.

SB1109 will be heard Thursday morning, February 9, by the Senate Judiciary committee and the committee members need to hear from you to move the bill forward.

SB1428, Prevents Cities and Counties from making ordinances regarding Gun Shows on public property

Regarding Gun Shows, SB1428 amends ARS section 13-3108 to include those events that may not be prohibited by political subdivisions of State government. Currently, Pima County has been holding executive session meetings with the county Attorney to try and find a "legal" loophole when it comes to gun Shows at the Pima County Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds are owned by the County but managed by the Southwest Fair Commission, who leases them from Pima County. They want to amend the contract to stop Gun Shows from being able to put on events, citing the "gun show loophole". If the County cannot ban guns, then they want to ban the sale of them this way.

If Pima County can get away with this, Coconino and Maricopa will most likely do the same thing. Goodbye Gun Shows!

SB1428 will be heard Thursday morning, February 9, by the Senate Judiciary committee and the committee members need to hear from you to move the bill forward.
