BMF,
I dislike the 30-30, but I have more respect for guys that use that rather than a rocket launcher.

USMC,
First of all the 300wm isn't as bad as the others mentioned and I stated a 300 ultra anyways...they ARE different. Second a 375 is way too much and you know it. You just want the explosion simple. Third my self esteem is where it should be, in my mind, and not displayed on the keyboard. Just get a Cheytac if you want to see massive holes at distance.

You never see the experienced hunters using the massive cartridges....simple. They use exactly what they need for the animal, maybe even a little less, never more unless they are dealing with dangerous game.

So anyone using a cartridge larger than a .223 or .243 on deer is an inexperienced hunter? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight?

good lord just think about how much a noob someone must be to actually use a 30-06 or 270win on a little old 150lb deer

Seriously where do you guys come up with this drivel about cartridge selection being an indicator of the type sportsman a person is? What's next the size engine in their truck?

Because we all know real hunters get by just fine with the v6 and anyone dumb enough to buy a v8 is purely a poser.

See how stupid that sounds?

Uh oh. :uhoh:

I shoot .30-30, but drive a power stroke diesel.

My caliber doesn't match my engine size. :scrutiny:

Guess it's time to upgrade the .30-30 to a .45-70.

Dang. And I really liked that .30. :banghead:

Then again, I guess I could keep the .30-30,
and trade the diesel in on a nice F-150.

<thinks for a minute>

Naw.

It is like I indicated in post 7 and rbernie better stated with George Carlin's quote in post 42. If you are doing something other than what the speaker has decided is proper, then you are a moron or maniac - just plain wrong. Heck, the OP insinuated that people were brutalizing deer to death with uber deadly ammo whilst he was just killing them with some sort of finesse caliber that was just deadly enough.

A lot of things are "simple" to blackops, you see. .30-30s are junk, but at least not all of their users are horrible shots like .300 maggie users, and therefore deserve some respect, since it take a hell of a good shooter to overcome the poor accuracy of .30-30 rifles, but a terrible shot to miss with the magical accuracy of a .300 mag.

Simple - you see?

Blackops, you really should contemplete the "think twice, post once" idea more - either that or do some quick editing when something completely nonsensical comes out of brain and onto the screen.

I'm pretty sure you said they were junk.....http://www.thehighroad.org/showpost.php?p=5864125&postcount=27

I can't say I've ever seen or heard of anyone white tail hunting with a rocket launcher.

Maybe a little less, OK that's just non-sense right there.

By the way, most of the experienced hunters I know shoot magnums. I'm talking about guys in their 60's who have killed more deer than you or I will ever see in our life times.
