At a gunshow today I saw an AK made by a company called Arsenal in Las Vegas. Milled receiver, muzzle brake of some type, and a longer. thinner buttstock than normal AK's. Looked well-manufactured. Price was (IIRC) $675. Anyone have any experience with this particular model of AK?

I have one ---and it is a beautifull example of an AK.

That price you quoted seems a bit high----my was $589 a few months ago---and I've seen on other forums where people got em even cheaper.

If it is an SSR-56, be aware of some barrel misalignment issues. I bought one last week and the barrel was way off to the left. If you do a search on some of the AK boards, you will find several threads on this.

I was going to get one myself but decided on an SAR-1 because I wasn't sure I would LIKE the AK design (now I KNOW I do!:) ).

They are beautiful (especially compared to the SARs). They seem to be built VERY well. Later, (when I have the money), I might buy one to add to my "AK collection" .;)

Oh, I think they have integral scope rails on some models too!

I've owned a Bulgarian milled SLR-95 for quite some time, now.

As sold by Arsenal, and I have no problem putting it up against any of the other AK variants in terms of fit and finish. I just wish I'd bought more of them, when they were selling for $265.00 each. :(

Arsenal makes some of the best looking AK's around.

Not quite as slick as an FEG rifle, but slick.
