Here u go, jmorris
Tc encore, 15x1.25" bullberry barrel
Unertl scope, not eer it is still tame with full house 223. No scope bite. I rest my chin on my off hand that is resting on my shooting wrist. With this my head moves back with recoil. I see many long distance shooters (using scoped pistols) are using rifle scopes. Heavier hitters too! I have the added benifit of an external adjust scope. It doesn't immediately recoil with the gun

I load the 223 down anyhow. I shoot under a covered range and the blast/concussion wears on me. I still get pretty good groups with mouse fart loads. I am subsonic at 4-5g of unique. The gun seems to like about 6-6.5g

I will have to look up the load on this but I think it was 6g of unique at 100(down loaded) 5 shot

Yes, interesting.

Do you know what kind of velocities you are getting with those loads?

I went to a .221 Fireball in a 10" Contender barrel for the supposedly reduced muzzle blast, but I find it's still got a pretty good bark. I'm still playing with loads to see what it likes.

I enjoy my 10" Contender .223. Everyone at the range turns and looks.

I really like the old school Unertl setup you're running. Since (in relative terms) the scope moves forward (a physicist would say the gun moves backwards but they may say what they like) your eyebrow is in little danger.

Really cool gun.

Not an Encore, but a Contender, Super 16 barrel in .223 Remington. BEC Gold Label 3-9x50 glass mounted by previous owner. Do I keep the scope on it?

Just curious, what rate of twist and typical loads?

I have a couple .223 barrels for my TC rifle in different twists. Never had anything that short.
