Spend a little more and get an M1A scout if you don't like the AK or AR. It's a proven design. The Mini-14 is fun and light, and the new ones are much more accurate. Mine is a solid 2 MOA gun that is 100% reliable.
I've owned 2 Golani (Galil clones). The first had the out of spec receiver, and those have been recalled. They replaced my first Golani with a newer model that is 100% reliable. Century has been very good about replacing bad guns.
Take note: You have to modify the receiver slightly to use the AR-15 mag adapter, which is a must have IMHO.
