I am not so sure about Saigas. Some have argued convincingly that because the ones on the list are Kalashnikov USA Saigas, EAA Saigas and RAA Saigas are legal. The list is that specific.

I don't doubt this could be true, but I think a DOJ letter or memo would be required to clarify this point.

How come no one is mentioning the Hakim rifle? 10 rounds of 8mm Mauser in a detachable mag. There's a battle rifle for you. It's Cali legal AND it's badass.

The Hakim is a cool weapon, and I believe that MG13 mags can be modified to fit it. giving you a cool 25 rounds of whoopin.

Hakims usually run in the $400-600 range. I've never shot one, but they're basically a k98 in semi-auto. They reportedly weigh about 8-12lbs. I've handled one though and it wasn't too heavy. It was going for $384. I should have bought it then. I bought an M95 mauser (the 8x56 straight bolt) instead. Hakims are, like mausers, a real "man's gun".

This adds absolutely nothing to the thread and certainly does no help the other new member. Few people are williing to pack up and move just to be able to own certain firearms or higher capacity magazines, especially if it was a right they had never been privvy to.

hello all im new to this site i found it looking for some soumi mag .i read some stuffon here i would like to put my 2cents in on it m14 aka m1a is a good gun if you have them worked on ,i got two found alot of problems with them gas port to small needs drilled out to help stop the jamming problem and they are mag picky but like where gunsmoke lives the 5 round mag that comes with it works good it just the 20 rounders that dont. if i was like gunsmoke i would get a sks but they are alil mag picky to if he wants to put a 30 round mag in it (that is if he moves or something ) hollow points will make 1 jam if it not throated and polished . but a very good gun much better than the m1a on right out of the box working and the barrells are chrome lined last for a long time i got 4 sks put thousands of rounds thru it never had any bad luck with them but just what i talked about earlier i hope i might have helped alil i dont know nothing about them ca. laws so cant help ya on that 1 heres a link its a great gun but costly http://www.reesesurplus.com/bm59parts.html
