At What Age Did You Get Your CHL?

Twenty-one.

No funny looks or snickers, just otherhonest citizens taking their patrimony as Americans seriously.

21 and a couple days for me. Didn't get any funny looks. Everyone is there for the same reason. The people in the class ranged from 21 to 60's.
I didn't start carrying daily until I was later in my 20's though. I wanted to get one so I could carry "just in case" until it dawned on me how stupid I'd feel if I needed and not had.

52. Would have gotten one sooner but there was no CCW allowed here until just this month.

I took my class at 20 and 10 months. Applied at 21. I was definitely the youngest person in the class.

My ID expires on my 21st birthday, a sunday, so I'll be renewing my drivers lisence that monday, and driving directly to the sherrifs office from the DMV.

No classes required in WA either!

CWP, age 49, Class was free from the club (Mid Carolina Rifle Club) I used to belong to. Paperwork and 50.00 to SLED and they make you wait the full 90 days.

Got mine as soon as Texas got the CHL. I was in my 50's.

My Wife and I carried (illegally) off and on from the early 1960's.
I've always believed it would be better to have to attend your trial, than have to attend your funeral.

20, gotta love Indiana.

Oh, and like El Tejon, I started carrying on private land very young: age 12.

I was 19 when I got it in NYS, but that was in 1986. I had to get one to even own a handgun. With that permit, I could carry it anyway I wanted...

I was 52 when Texas got a CHL law in 1996. I have had a CHL ever since. I just re-qualified Saturday at "Bullet Trap" in Plano, TX..
My wife was 49 and my daughter was 21.

I got mine at 21, I joined the Army at 17 so I to wait until I got back home. That was 22 years ago.
