An aviation collector buys a vintage A-1 Skyraider in France, takes off the four 20mm cannons while the plane is still in France, and the ATF STILL seizes it!

Here's an excert from the article:

"...Hendrickson said ICE agents told him after they seized the plane in May that he had failed to fill out a form required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives when he imported the plane into the states from France.

Hendrickson said he was unaware he had to register the plane with ATF since he removed the aircraft's artillery while it was still in France..."

This is just wierd.

Remember: The ATF is not your friend.

(OK, so I mispelled forfieture....)

Even if you take that blog at face value it was ICE not ATF that seized the plane.

But hey why let the truth get in the way of some good old ATF bashing.

Agreed. ICE =/= ATF.

And if you read the article, it seems that either the gentleman failed to fill out a necessary form, or ICE screwed up. I don't see this as a failure of ATF at all.

And besides all that, this is OT. THR is about guns, not antique airplanes.
