ATF House visit part II:

But why (rhetorical question hat on) in the world would it be necessary for 3 agents to do this kind of check. Holy cow, our tax dollars at work.
Same reason that when an informant said a DA Civilian offered to sell hand grenades at Ft. Lewis years ago, and set up a meet for me, I called ATF for back-up since it was to be off post. Three cars with four agents each showed up for the meet. Had it been on post, I would have, maybe, had one CID Special Agent stand by for back-up.

(Turned out the grenades were just empty casings like you can buy from novelty stores.)

The point is, ya just never know. :scrutiny:

I too am glad that it worked for you. Did you ask them how they knew about your multiple purchase of the same model handgun?

I would assume this info was from the Multiple Handgun Purchase report that your transfer FFL had to file. Otherwise the seller may have reported you.

Thanks for all the comments and support. I am sure a lot has changed from people that purchased multiple guns in the 90's. Think about it. I really don't care if I am on a list or anything. They can look all they want.

Although my ethnicity and maybe my profession might have something to do with their initial reasonings. I can tell you that after they stopped by my house the first time, i think they pretty much left me alone and I had to call them twice to meet me. The agent even said "...well u were not on the top of our list, if you were we would have come to see you a lot sooner.."

Even the docs that were in Britain or other terrorist cells are very low key and live out of tiny apartments, and are very mobile, etc etc. This is not meant to be bragging but I live in a very affluent gated area and this is the house they walked up to. It does not fit the terrorist cell profile. A drug dealer maybe, but not a terrorist cell:)

I am thinking of pissing them off and every couple of months buying two identical guns just for fun:)

Buy 'em

Not to piss anybody off or cause trouble, but the idea that buying a couple of identical guns (consecutive serial numbered, for instance) is not necessarily a suspicious activity should be promoted. And I see no better way of promoting it.

I bough a pair of consecutive numbers 642's and I didn't get a visit from the men in black. :(

But my house is DEFINITELY not as nice as yours Alpha! ;)

If you are ever tempted to speak to the police in the absence of legal counsel, first run a Google search on "police interrogation techniques." They are allowed to lie and cheat- to say anything that will intimidate, fool, or shame you ("If you haven't done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about." Yeah, right) into answering their questions, which are formulated with the input of govt lawyers and PhDs in Psychology to convince you to speak to them when ANY answer can be twisted into being inculpatory. The Miranda caveats are applicable- they just don't have to mention that until you have already told them all they need to wreck your life. What part of "Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law" is hard to understand? And to anyone who thinks they don't have the resources to harass people who aren't a serious menace I have 2 words- Ruby Ridge.
