ATI AT94 MP5 Clones?

To the best of my knowledge, these HK clones are license-built by MKE in Turkey. Heard a rumor that Atlantic Firearms will have one or more of these guns out before the end of the year.

What I'd like to know is how they managed to import that rifle. It either needs to arrive in neutered form or as a pistol. For the latter, I wonder how it then becomes a "rifle" in the eyes of the ATF.

Edited to add: Answered my own question. Seems like US v Thompson Center Arms Company allows conversion of a pistol to a rifle so long as the overall length is greater than 26" (and probably as long as the process doesn't involve any intermediate steps in which a stock is joined to a firearm with a barrel length less than 16"). I learned something today.

Edited again to add: So, if that's the case, than why don't we see importation of 16" barrel pistols based on the Galil and other unobtainables?

Awsome looking gun. I think I will ask Santa for one. Will they be available in 9mm? Oops. My bad. It looks like they are. I watched the review on the .22 that's why I asked.

I can't believe they're going to come out with these after recently having the GSG-5 shut down... but whatever, there needs to be cheap HK clones available.

nope made in Turkey by MKE at least the 9mm or other "clones"

the 22 cal versions with HK on them are made by Umarex and I would agree with you as I had the Colt 22 version for 1 day

A thread on some AR-15 forum from a few months back I dug up on google listed the MSRP as around $1800. Which I guess is a deal compared to a real MP5, but too much for me. I was hoping more around $650-ish.

That's because MKE got permission and was liscensed by HK before these were made.

Will MKE be importing mags as well? HK mags are already ridiculously expensive.

$1500 is also not a bad price assuming the gun runs well out of the box without requiring a bunch of HK parts to be swapped into it.

This could be the gun I have been waiting for as I have refused to give Todd bailey any of my money. The chances of getting a lemon from that A-hole are just to big. Even when I could pick one of for $800-1000 the risk of having to invest another $500-1000 just to get it running correctly was too big of a risk. Friends don't let friends buy Cohaire/special-weapons.

Just buy the ATI branded Korean imports. Make sure they're listed as ATI; they actually work unlike the previous crap.

Finish is a pseudo-park, but function is 100% on the batch I bought in my K.

They're not as nice as the HK mags but they're 1/3 the price.

The rifles will be $1549.00 the pistols will be $1,499.00

Sounds pretty reasonable. I've had bad luck with MP-5 clones in the past but I'm willing to take a chance on these as I've heard good things about MKE quality.

why no front hand guard on the pistols. i've been wanting a sp89 style 9mm lately...but the pistol and rifle are kind of ugly IMHO

i had dealer check today said 1500 and up. but unless buy models with out hand guards. no 30 rders
the 94 style uses a propriatary mag no 30 rds. ugh but will see may be changed. or thats what his email said.

well the Turks use them, so I assume they are of good quailty, maybe a bit more crude than a HK but I suspect quality like the Greek EBO SAR3/8

well aparently these are not internally the same as an HK94. To get around the ban they had to significantly alter the design so that HK parts will not be interchangeable.

IS it going to be delayed blow back, and will they have fluted chambers like the original? The HK 94 is a blast to shoot virtually no recoil.
