Attacked today in San Francisco

Unless I'm on my own property or surrounded by friends I'm always on high alert. Yes, it's draining and I never enjoy the sights and sounds but I've never been surprised.

Regarding awareness, Jeff Cooper has observed that it is possible to spend long amounts of time in condition yellow (relaxed awareness) without any ill effects.

As well, one of my favorite quotes on this topic came from Ayoob's LFI-1 class: "When you are looking for thorns, you also see the roses".

Relaxed awareness is the way to go.

(Not that I am the shining example or anything; as mentioned several times above, we all go inwards and space out from time to time. Awarness takes constant practice, IMHO.)

Well your first mistake was going to San Fran. in the first place.

One of these days it's going to rain sulfer on that place.... or an earthquake will put it into the sea...

Don't want to be caught "visiting" when that party starts.

Only visited once, nature made the City SAFE! It was raining, we had a brolly, street people melt in the rain? Oh and yes, the brolly was of the fighting kind.

You have to acknowlege threats and don't allow them to get close where they pull a cheap shot. If they smell or look weird, don't be afraid of hurting feelings by intentionally keeping your distance. Be prepared to issue warnings and follow up with force if necessary.

Another example of speed and surprise in an attack. Got one in the chamber?

Every day I catch myself in condition white! Every Day!

It is damn near impossible to live life normally in yellow all the time but every day I am getting better at it.
