I come to find out that my Glock 20, originally purchased some ten years ago, was in need of an update to make the firing pin more safe under adverse gun cleanliness circumstances.

I sent the gun in last Thursday to Glock, via UPS. I get the pistol delivered back yesterday! Talk about turnaround!

Not only did they do the upgrade to the firing pin/trigger mechanism, but they also replaced my aging recoil spring and gave me a captive guide rod, to boot. The gun was was also shipped back in a new really cool lockable plastic gun case suitable for long term storage and transport. Much better than the "tupperware" case in which the gun originally came.

I can't wait to take it out for practice.

The only little glitch was the new trigger safety. It has a bit of sharp mold flash that irritates my fingertip a bit. I'll try shaving the flash off with a knife, and see if it works/feels better. It also seems a little thinner than the old safety. Maybe I'm just being sensitive because of the sharp edge it has now.

I could never in a million years seeing Colt or S&W being so helpful, fast, and gracious as Glock has been on this transaction. My only expense was getting the gun to Glock.

My Glock has never failed me once, and neither did the company when I needed them. They also included a Glock decal, which I will proudly display on the rear window of my truck.

Glock Rocks!!

I hope you never decide to keep the gun inside the truck when you go into a store somewhere or leave it in the street overnight...drf

I also had great service from Glock when the take-down bar came apart inside the frame. A real human answered the phone, they didn't even ask me when or where I got it. All the guy wanted to know was if it said 'Glock' on the side. When I said "Yep" He said, "Send it back. We'll take care of it"

And they did. :)

I'm glad YOU guys had a good experience with glock customer service. Mine was considerably less than great.

Glock stands behind their pistols. Unfortunately, the cost of shipping a pistol is a great deal more than just buying a slide lock lever/spring and installing them yourself. :)

I actually had to have the whole frame replaced. The slide lock lever had come apart, but the gun still fired for several rounds before it jammed, and part of the busted slide lock lever ended up bashed back (embedded) into the frame by the reciprocating slide. :)

It was something.
