Reloading is taking a backseat tonite, just sitting here by my bench, alone, thinking about the past year, thankful for many things, one most important, my friends on THR and what i have learned.
Will be 79 years old in a few days--sure doesn't seem like it, been at the bench so many years--just like it was yesterday I started this crazy hobby,( addiction).

Have about 10,000 rounds loaded for the coming year, I shoot with a great bunch of guys and that keeps me going.

I raise my glass of Crown Royal to all the guys and gals that enjoy this great passion as I do.

Stay strong and Peace to all, Smokeyloads

It's been great giving someone a hard time that I've never met (although I'd like to). You behave yourself tonight floydster. I havent touched the stuff for about 14 years now. Happy new year and Happy Birthd:Day to a good ole boy!!!!!!!

My hat is off to any guy 79 and still getting it done instead of riding a rocking chair. You are an inspiration.

I'm raising my glass to the friends and family that I've lost, tonight. I also have spent most of the night cleaning the gun room (no guns out, while I'm drinking, just straightening up tools / supplies / etc).

The last few years have seen too much death in my family, and this November I lost a good friend (and fellow shooter, who came to the rifle matches I direct). He was mysteriously absent from the October shoot, and the November shoot. Then I got a call from a friend. Was diagnosed with cancer Oct 5th. Died Nov 17th. He had so little warning. He was perfectly healthy looking/acting at the September shoot. I got to spend a bit of time with him before he passed away, and gave him his NRA marksmanship certificates and medal in the hospital.

Lost a neighbor I was friends with about a month before that. Fellow hunter, he had so many stories. Heart attack. Just there one minute, gone the next.

Before that, my aunt lost her battle with cancer..

Hoping that 2014 brings a little less of the grim reaper my way.

There were some high points this year but the low points turned it in to a roller coaster.

floydster your 79 and still cranking out ammo and shooting? I am 33 and hope to I can keep going like you have. I am sure your are a wealth of knowledge on more then just reloading. Happy new year. Cheers to the experienced ones, may they shine the light for others trying to keep traditions and passions moving forward. thank you for all you do and thank you to THR.

Right back at you, floydster. Raising my Jack and Coke to all the good folks at THR. Happy New Year all.

10 shots and I"m calling it a night. Celebrated and memorialized a life lost with each. This tradition is going to get a lot more difficult as the years pass. (maybe use a smaller cup next year lol!) :(

G'night all, and have a good year.

Some nights I'm a "good Buddhist".
