I've done a little shooting with my new BCM MIDDY-14.5 with a pinned BattleComp 1.5 compensator. Makes the overall barrel length about 16.1". Mid-length gas system. Troy folding battle sights. Total weight as shown below (but without mag) is 6 lbs. 12 oz. Aimpoint T-1 will likely be the next move.

I've only put about a couple hundred rounds through it so far (mostly XM-193 and some Black Hills 75gr. and 77gr. Match HP) as I have only had time to shoot it in my (very modest) in-home range, where I shoot 30 to 60 rounds every other night or so. So far, a big thumbs up for this set-up. Muzzle stays down making for quick splits. What a pleasure to shoot. Can't wait to get it outside for a more extensive shooting session!

Here are some pics.

very nice, thanks for sharing. i just finished my BCM build, and i am very excited to gte it out and run it hard. i should really get some pics of mine up soon.

Nice setup. I'm going to place an order for a BCM mid-length in the next month or so. I'm looking at going with a 9" rail from LaRue and when funds permit an Aimpoint and some good carbine training courses.

I have a 14.5" Bushmaster with a compensator. I love it, very fast repeat shots.

Folks shooting next to me don't care for it as much, I should note.

How much did that fancy stock cost? I just have the basic stock M-4gery stock.

Travis... I believe the BattleComp compensator is much better than other comps in the noise bothersomeness aspect. If you ever think about switching comps.. definitely check out the Battlecomp

The Magpul ACS was a bit over $100. I choose that because I really like the great cheek weld.

Congrats on your new rifle (and great pics)! BCM makes top notch stuff.

I love my BCM 14.5 middy upper on a cav arms lower. It is a great lightweight combo. I have the FSC556 on mine though.

zerodefect... thanks, I'm glad you like the pics! Camera is a 5DMkII. I should mention that I earn my living creating images. ;)

wnycollector... I'll have to look into that cav arms lower, as I'm planning to buy another lower. How much weight savings does it give you vs. most other lowers? Thanks for mentioning that.

It is ~1lb lighter than a aluminum lower and A2 stock. It is ~4-5oz less than an AL lower and collapsible stock. I also prefer the cheek weld of a fixed stock since I shoot NTCH. Lastly, a Cav Arms lower is cheap! I picked mine up from DSG for $99 shipped to my FFL. I built it with a Stag LPK I got for $55 via gunbroker...so my entire complete lower cost me $180.

if the op don't mind, another BCM AR.
