Hello THR,

I was cleaning out The Cave last night and found two white boxes of Bear Creek Supply bullets that I bought a couple of years ago or last (I don't recall right now) that are stamped "400 30 WCF Flat point 180 gr .309 Dia."

Basically a moly coated lead Flat point for rifle. I opened up one of them and got the calipers out and they measured .3115 from the base to the crimp groove.

A light went off in my head that I could push these out of my Masin Nagant with about 9.0 Grains of Trail Boss and have a fun little plinker round for the steel target posted 100 yards out at my favorite outdoor shooting range.

I went ahead and loaded up 20 rounds as a test but before I shoot them, I thought I might ask if anyone has tried these or something like I going to try.

Walkalong,
didn't you try this company's products before?? if so, tell me what you didn't like about them as well as any performance results

Thanks for the help, Mate

Cheers

I tried some Bear Creek pistol bullets. I sold the ones I did not shoot, at a nice discount, to someone who was very happy to get them. With prices now, maybe I should have kept them. ;)

They shot pretty well, but the Precision bullets I bought to try at the same time were much cleaner to handle. (Besides cost, 100% of the reason to buy the molycoated bullets over lead, right?)

I would not hesitate to shoot them, and would expect them to shoot pretty well.
