She's on to my surprise now. I asked her to look at all these pictures.
She said they all look like "terminator" guns or something out of "robocop"

I guess they really don't make many guns for women.

Maybe a refinish in a chrome or nickle?

If she liked XD, have the slide and any other metal parts visible refinshed. Mag as well.

Opens up to more choices.

If you can find an old Kel-Tec P-32 with white grips (they pop up now and then), you can actually dye them pink. Someone posted a picture of one on another thread some time ago.

Why does it have to be an auto? Many women find revolvers very attractive, and some prefer the simplicity. My girlfriend "ooh'd" at the Ruger SP101 and S&W Airweight revolvers. She likes shooting autos but really digs shooting .38 revolvers.

Based on looks and low recoil that she will enjoy shooting, the Springfield EMP gets my vote. Running a close second is the S&W 3913 or the Cheifs Special.

I've decided to buy her jewelry instead.

The funniest thing about jewelry though, I find all jewelry to be gawdy and uncomfortable, but she likes 90% of jewelry. She can't find a gun she doesn't think looks gawdy, but I like 90% of firearms.

Must be a Y-chromosome thing.

<The Luger P08 is the best looking semiauto firearm ever made.>

Yup, I agree. But do you have a convenient source for a nice shiny new one?

;-)

Have you priced them lately?

;-) ;-)

My wife likes the look of my Beretta Billennium...

...although she likes shooting my Beretta PX4 Storm better! :D

I think my CZ P-01 is one of the sexiest autoloaders out there. I have yet to find a pistol that is more ergonomic. (Sorry about the pic quality)

I'm with her -- the pictures that have been posted on this thread so far are ... um, sorry guys, I know you're really trying. But except for post #2 (the bling-Taurus), the guns aren't exactly pretty.

I guess they really don't make many guns for women.

Since she's onto you anyway now, go post (or have her post) the same question over at the Women & Guns forum.

Or start a fresh thread on THR but this time, ask for pictures of "pimp guns." (Yeah, seriously.)

Jim Downing did a Model 36 for me a few years ago. He did excellent work, it wasn't expensive, and the turnaround was pretty quick. If you find the unengraved gun that suits your wife's fancy and want to pretty it up, I reccommend him. Most of the stuff you get from the factory is roll stamped, really lacking in fine detail. The hand engraving shows.

Check out his website: http://www.thegunengraver.com/

His number is on the site, so if you give him a call, you can probably come up with something unique for her.

if price is an issue those Bersa Duo-Tone 380's are kinda pretty. tell us what caliber you're thinking of, we never run short of opinions here
