I have a situation where I can legally shoot deer on my property but I'm also in a rural subdivision (3-10 ac. lots) we have a ton of deer and it wouldn't do any harm to cull a few every year. So I've been looking at sub-sonic suppressed options (I have experience with neither) for head-shots inside of 30 yards, in order to keep the deer on my property.
Pretty handy with rebarreling Savage rifles (no longer "new" to Savages, you might say) and I'm thinking of barreling one of my actions in .350 Legend. Thinking it could pull double duty as a light recoiling gun for future grandkids (hopefully any time now) and I could load subs for yard work.
The factory Savage barrels are 1:16 twist and I've read they may not stabilize subs well, but I also don't anticipate needing those subs to be accurate beyond 20-30 yards tops.
Any thoughts?
