I am looking for a better belt to use on a IWB holster, what do you recommend? Post a link of the belt..

Thanks

Safariland belts

Safariland has a dress belt made from safarilaminate, a layered material.

I have one on order from my local uniform shop. A quality belt that will remain rather stiff will make carrying a pistol IWB or in a pancake holster much more comfortable and secure. I think the 1.5 inch models are just a little too wide for most jeans and dress pants. A 1.25 will be fine if the pistol isn't too heavy.

I think it only comes in black. Most of the better leather holster manufacturers also make belts in thick, full-grain leather. These are very much worth the investment and will last longer than a dress belt from a department store.

go ahead and check some web sites.

Justin, yes the same ones who make the boots, also make a fine line of belts in what I call triple thick leather. They are admittedly western in design and not meant for suit pant belt loops, but they keep your IWB holster securely positioned and at around $4o per belt I think they are a good buy.

THE SECOND AMENDMENT GUARANTEES ALL THE OTHERS!!!

If your are looking for a reasonable priced, well made, silver buckle,1 1/2 inch black leather belt made in the USA ,check out the $10.00 "Work belt"( has a tag on it that says work belt) the next time your in Wal Mart...Sorry don't have a picture, but I do use one to carry my Glock 17 IWB.

Expensive ($95) but it worth it to me. I have 1.5" Mitch Rosen that I really like. It fits all my jeans and casual (dockers style) pants, is holding up great, looks good for a belt this sturdy and is cut on a curve.

I too have been looking recently after carrying with sub-standard belts. I've ordered a Wilderness for casual use, but also came across this:

Aker Dress belts, two layers of leather with a polymer insert-designed to be CCW carrying belts. Best part is, at that site anyway, they are $30. I'll be ordering a brown one to see if they are any good; I have heard good things about them especially for the price.

Gun Leather Inc., holster maker out of Texas, has a belt that runs about $40. Just saw a double-thick belt from Filson (wool hunting clothes and such) at a store the other day..

There are quite a few good belts on the market but, in my opinion, the best of the breed is being made by Lou Alessi.

I also like Alessi belts. You can find belts that cost more and you can certainly find belts that cost less, but you will not find a belt that is of higher quality. These belts will last a lifetime if cared for. Well worth the price.

Milt Sparks is one of the best manufacturers of gun belts, holsters, etc.

Witness the fact that they currently have an 8-12 WEEK wait if you order direct from them! :what:

Try http://www.lightningarms.com if you want quality leather fast. They stock some fine leather like Sparks, no wait. :)

Just ordered a Sparks belt from them myself. :)

Fantastic people to deal with.

Do a search and you'll see that LAS and Milt Sparks are pretty much legendary in the gun world.

I find that the re-enforced belts aren't comfortable for IWB carry. Reason is, they are thicker, and the clip may have a hard time fitting over it. Plus it is just more bulk.

I do have a leather belt with the polymer insert, and its great for wearing a regular holster on, but not IWB. For IWB, a regular belt works just fine.

The one I got... www.galls.com for $31, item #Z-LP224, made by Aker.

Another vote for the aker belt. Easy to swap buckles, and easy to take the buckles off at airports etc. Only problem I've run into is it's a little bit thicker so I can't utilize some of the handy clips for cell phones etc. Dispite this I would not hesitate to purchase another. I plan on carrying IWB with this belt so we'll see how it turns out.

If you're having a hard time finding it's listed under dress belts, or here:

Go to a tack store (one that sells saddles and bridles) and ask for a near-side latigo. Cut to fit and add a buckle.

As the Scots say, "It'll see ye oot, Laddie."

I was going to post the same thing as Blue

The walmart work belts are awesome. They are incredibly sturdy come in black or brown and are really cheap so if you happen to change sizes or unbuckle a little to energetically in a public restroom you don't have to throw away alot of $$

www.thebeltman.net supplier for gunner's alley and others...

i have the 1.75" it's a hoss....
but what a difference a good belt makes...

i used the wal-mart special for about 6months carrying 1911's, k-frames, and a sig or two... now it's 5" longer than it was new, and has 6 new holes from resizing....

best ~60 bux you'll ever spend on leather...

yesterdays youth,

Who's the "internationally known holster manufacturer" that he's been making belts for since 1998? Just curious.
