I have an older Benelli 12, and the trigger guard hurts the middle finger on my trigger hand. I know the cause is probably my incorrect gun mount, as I have been told. I also heard that there is some cushion or guard I can put on that finger. The older I get,the slower I mount the gun when duck hunting. And the older I get, the more it hurts!
Thanks for any assistance

I have wrapped my fingers with medical tape to prevent injury from repetitive motion. But I think you are correct in that the way you are mounting the gun, is allowing it to slip through your hands at the moment of firing. Its an older Benneli 12, auto?

Or, you could trade the inertia recoil-operated Benelli that kicks like a stud mule on crack.

For a modern gas-operated shotgun that doesn't kick hardly at all.

Yep its an older Benelli auto. Pretty sure its my gun mount when duck hunting. I shoot 3 1/2" number 4s. We shoot mostly wood ducks in a pond surrounded by woods, so its pretty fast.
I havent had that problem dove hunting.
Thanks for the links and advice to all.
