Does anyone here have any experience with this gun? Are these known for any issues or recalls at all? The one I'm considering is in 9mm and it fits my hand really well. Thanks for any help on this guys.

Massad ayoob reamed it

Mas AYOOB wrote a book on BERETTA pistols and singled out the 9000 series as the only really bad BERETTA. He found the ergonomics to be second rate. For a guy who praises the 92/96 series and gave great reviews on the 8000 and PX-4 series, it said a lot.

I read post after post in various forums where people complain about the grip, it does look odd. But after holding one in a gun shop, I like it, it felt good in my hand.

I think the slide and safety levers are too fat for the overall size of the pistol, but it fits me well (and my wife) and I like the fact it will do cocked and locked or DA/SA if you want. Recoil is a bit stout for my wife, however so she doesn't practice with it as much as I'd like.

I find the trigger is a little spongy, but overall if you can live with these limitations its a good gun for the money.

Sounds like the only problems with it are subjective ones you don't have. Maybe something would come out on the range, but it seems like it's a good gun for you.
