I've been seeing some incredible prices for Beretta's 9000. I mean, really, really cheap ($30-$40 less than a new Ruger P95). I'm seeing new DOA versions for sale at $300 off the list price.

Anyone have any experience with this gun? I tried looking on the Beretta forum, but it is very slow to load and took forever to search through threads (like the Sig forum and the Ruger forum). I remember reading complaints about the trigger pull, which would be a problem, since the incredible deals are for the double-action-only models. If it's anything like the CX4 Storm, the trigger action will depend on attention to detail in manufacturing. While a lot of people think the Storm has a great trigger, a few have had to clean up some burrs before the trigger will pull smoothly.

I dont own one but I have had the chance to shoot one...I only put a mag. through it so take this at face value:

1..I didnt like the way it felt in my hand...I have stubby fingers

2. It was accurate and hit to POA

3. Was 100% reliable when I fired it

If it handled better and balanced better I might be tempted to get one now that the price has gone down...Other than that all I can say is...buy it and if you dont like it then sell it.

Accuracy and trigger typical of any DA/SA polymer crunchenticker. Nothing special but not bad either.

The ergonomics suck. I tried to hard and wanted so bad to like this gun.

I paid $325 for mine new. I found my 9000s to be a pleasant surprise. It was 100% reliable. The trigger pull was about the same as my 92FS. I like the fact that they dovetailed the front sight. The safety is a bit stiff, but that's nothing a little training won't remedy (my Glocks have spoiled me). The slide is somewhat low profile. This helps with recoil but it's not as easy to grap the slide for clearance drills. Leather is a bit hard to find (although mine fits, a little tightly, in a holster made for a Sig 239). The flipdown finger extension on the baseplates is a neat feature. I won't carry it, though. That honor goes to my G26. I won't be selling it either.

Bought a Type F in .40 about a month ago for $329---still havent got a chance to shoot it yet---but I like it well enough so far.

They also had Type D's for $299----but the DAO trigger is horrible.

The trigger pull on cocked Type F isn't bad at all-----plus can be carried cocked and locked-----the Type F is definitely worth the extra $30.
