I was thinking of geting one of these for my summer CCW gun whats the general opinion of these little berettas as far as reliability goes? I have a 92fs which I love but its way to big for summer carry use thanks for any input on this guys.

I bought one b/c I thought the design was cool and it was cheap (paid $320 for it new including taxes). I have a little over three hundred rounds through it with no malfunctions of any type (it shot 100% from get-go). Accuracy is to point of aim at 25 feet for me (haven't tried it any further back - this is a defensive gun and I'm not going to use it for long range shooting. Leather is a little bit of a problem (however, Hume makes their excellent H715M IWB for it). I don't carry it. For summer I still carry my Glock 26 or 19. Winter carry is the same, although more often it is the 19. Now, I'm not saying the 9000s is unsuited for carry. It's a bit wide and some people don't like the small amount of purchase the slide offers (I personally think this is overblown), but it is a completely serviceable choice for concealed carry. I like the little flip-down baseplates that are available for the mags. Let's see, that just about covers it.

Had one, swapped it for a Firestar 43 plus heap plenty gunleather and sundry other toys.

The 9000 is fat. Wide. Nearly too wide for me. I really didn't like the small amount of grabbing space on the slide, and found having all that reciprocating mass kerchunking away over the plastic frame in my hand felt awkward. (Glock does plastic better). It's not really purse-carryable.*

To be fair, mine was the DAO version, with a long, skritchy trigger pull, and at the time I bought it, I hadn't shot to speak of in nearly 30 years. But I didn't like it. It offered all the drawbacks of a revolver with none of the advantages and it was uncomfortable in my hand.

It did shoot straight. It's definitely not junk.

If you possibly can, shoot one before deciding. It might like you better than it did me!

It's a Love-Hate thing

I love mine but others hate it. See if you can try one out first. I think it's a fine gun but YMMV.

I've a 9000S in 40 S&W. 100% out of the box. Basically I like it, but its too thick for CCW. I didn't buy it for this because I already have better carry guns. I just wanted a small 10+1 in .40 caliber. I've long passed needing another gun, but now I'm old enough and well off enough I can buy a few simply because I want them, no other justification required.

IMHO best feature is the triple action safety -- Fire, Cocked'N'Locked, HammerDrop. So you can carry it however you are most comfortable with.
If its not too thick for you I'd say go for it.

If its too thick, take a look at the CZ RAMI in 9mm which is also 10+1 but lacks the hammer drop safety. You can manually lower the hammer and carry it DA/SA since it also has a firing pin block. Look at the Taurus PT111 Millenium guns if you like DAO. The RAMI will cost a little more the PT111 a little less than the 9000S.

For small single stack Kahr PM9 rocks unless you've $1000 and time for a waiting list for a Rorhbaugh :)

This has been covered before here. Do a search and you will find a lot of info. I liked the way they looked. Borrowed one from a buddy and determined I did NOT want one.
