Which one of these two pistols would you guys choose if you could have only one for the rest of your life: Beretta 92FS or CZ-75B?

The CZ, mostly because I like the feel of it better, and I prefer a steel steel gun over an aluminum framed one.

I like the CZ 75B. It fits my hands like a glove, and is really fun to shoot. Reliable too. Not a knock against Beretta, I just prefer the CZ. Shot both, but I don't own either.

Don't own either, and I really want to pick Beretta since I'm of italian descent plus it's the sidearm of our armed forces. But, the CZ-75 fits my hand much better. The Beretta feels big in my hand. Not big enough I'd never own one, but big enough to prefer the CZ.

CZ-75b.
I have had several really good range trips with it (like this one)

The Beretta is a fine gun but I had a really poor experience with an early "Centurion" model I was issued. It was unreliable in a crisis situation and although it was probably just a lemon and not representative of Beretta overall, it biased me HARD and I doubt I'll ever "get over" it so I just stay away from that model.

I own a Beretta M9 service pistol now but if the choice came down to one or the other I would be inclined to choose a CZ-85 in 9mm.

I have both and enjoy shooting them tremendously. However, if forced to choose one, I'd probably go with the CZ 75B as it fits my hand better and is slightly easier to shoot accurately.

That decision might also be partly motivated by aesthetics, as I prefer the proportions of the 75B over those of the 92FS. The 92FS is a little larger than a full-size 9mm pistol needs to be, IMHO.

Have used both. The Beretta 92FS I used was a fine range gun, good shooting, but far too big and bulky for anything other than open holster duty belt use. The CZ-75 fits me like a glove, and the CZ PO1 like a custom made glove. The Beretta we had at the range failed twice, and the CZ did not. Limited observation, for sure, but I have seen many people condemn CZ for the failure of one example.

Guess I'm one of the few who will say Beretta. I have rented a CZ and found it to be nothing special. I've owned a few 92s over the years - very nice gun.

Own both. The CZ requires a bit more careful handling if you're going to carry it DA with the hammer down on a round and it's really really hard (or stupid) to carry the M92 safely in SA mode (cocked and locked not being an option). Both are fine nines tho' the ergo's of the CZ grip shape fit my hand better.

So I'll say the CZ for me but the Beretta is no slouch and probably safer for DA carry.

Too bad I couldn't wiggle Taurus' earlier Beretta design with the frame mounted safety into the equation for a best of both worlds approach... or if CZ would make their decock device allowing C&L carry as well. Or do they?

As to last comment-I don't think the 92 is unattractive at all-in fact, it's quite handsome! Now, the PX4 Storm is another thing...

I'd choose the Beretta because it has ambi-decocker/safety and CZ only has safety on left side of the frame. I am southpaw...

Otherwise, hard to choose between them...

My M92FS was my first pistol, so I'm going to be biased toward it. However, it has never failed me after approximately 8,000 rounds, so my favorable opinion is based in reality. I have nothing against the CZ-75, and would probably feel the same way if it had been my first pistol.

I would go with the CZ. Looks aside, from what I've read and witnessed it's the stronger of the two.

CZ-75 for me. One of the most under rated pistols out there. But try them both and see what works better for you. Don't base your decision on the bias of other people.

The 92FS is wider, has a hammer drop safety and is thought to be bigger than a CZ75.

The 75B and 75BD (decocker ) fit me much better and are more accurate in my hands.

Like with CZs, i've never had any problems from my Berettas.

Both brands are class act.

I was actually deciding between these two pistols not long ago. I shot both and went with the CZ. The Beretta was actually easier to handle for me and I had better groupings with it as well, but I went with the CZ because overall the gun felt better in my hands. The Beretta just felt too big for a 9mm for my taste. Honestly though, you can't go wrong either way.

I don't know why everyone says the Beretta's grip is like a brick. I like the way it fits my hand better than the CZ. The Beretta is quite big, though.

With that said I'm not sure which I would take. I have both, and I like both. I'd probably choose the Beretta because I like its looks better.
