I've had a Beretta 92FS for years and I love it. Last week I shelled out the money for another one, this one being a 92A1.

I've yet to shoot it, but I just got done adding a few goodies to it from Wilson Combat, including their short reach trigger, thin grips, low profile safety, and spiral fluted guide rod.

Everything seems great except for that guide rod. I've read different things regarding what you can and can't use with the 92A1. From what I can tell, the

should work just fine in conjunction with a standard Beretta 92 recoil spring. Mine seems to be jamming up though. When I go to take the slide off it sometimes jams up and it's hard to either take apart or slide back together.

Is there another washer or something I need to go with this?

Alternately if I were to order one of the metal captive guide rod setups for the 92a1, what happens if I want to replace the spring? I assume they use different ones than the 92FS. Is there a dummies' guide somewhere?
