Never had a handgun with a rail light. But I'm going to make this a bump in the night type of gun or for late night walk in the back 40, popping occasional raccoon maybe. Any suggestions?

There are lots of good lights available, but not all holsters are available for all gun/light combinations.

You may want start with what holster you may like, and see what light options they have for the 92X.

As an example, here is JM Custom Kydex and what they have for the 92X https://www.jmcustomkydex.com/p/OWB-V2-LB.html

Also realize the 92X, in most cases, will have a different holster than a Wilson BrigTac, or a 92A1, that also have rails. The BrigTac due to the slide and the 92A1 due to the frame.

Also, is this a light for a 92X "Compact" or are you looking for a "compact" light for a 92X?

Here it is on my sr9c.

It has a magnetic charger that works with a cellphone charging cord. It will charge while mounted on the gun.
The light is bright enough for night shooting and the controls are convenient.

A good example of my point. That is probably an excellent light, but note it is not a combination covered by JM Custom Kydex.

Of course they aren't the only holster maker, but since there are so many good lights, working backward from a holster that would work for your needs can make your life easier.

If you're never going to holster the gun with the light attached, your choices become a little easier.

sweet. its a 92x Compact. I dig the idea of working from the holster back. I'll check out the Valkyrie too thanks for the suggestion!

@JTQ is right.
Finding a holster for a mounted light is a pain. I have a couple of Cordura Velcro adjustable holsters that will suffice ...neither is great.
My best carry method for a pistol with light is the Hill People kit bag. 20221126_155953.jpg

The Olight (and most of them) comes off easily, yet is secure when fixed in place. I have one and am happy with it.

My first look for a light is always Surefire. $$ but well proven. I have several which are very old but still going strong, I am not so sure a lot of the newer ones will still be going in 20yrs.

I just ordered a pouch of amazon for 14.99 plus tax. totally worth it for the safe and back pack. If it works out I'll order a few more.

I have nothing but good things to say about Olight. Wanted to revisit the post and update. I'll make an individual post about Olight with pics and customer service story later. Long story short I admittedly messed up the base and they are going to send me a new base free of charge and no cost of shipping.
