Hello everyone, I had a real quick question and was hoping someone can help me out. I was at the gun shop the other day and was talking to one of the guy's there. He was telling me about the Kel-tec sub 2000 in a 9mm. I looked at it and held it for awhile but could not get the feel for it. He showed me how it excepts Glock magazines. Now at that moment that was almost enough reason for me to buy it. Then i saw the Beretta cx4 storm and that is the gun i have been wanting for awhile now. The feel and the look are just so perfect for me and my form. I want to get it, but they never have the 9mm in stock. So i asked him why can't Beretta make a cx4 that except Glock magazines? That would be even more reason to buy it (for me). He said only Kel-tec and a few others are the only one who thought of it. When i asked who else he did not know. My question is, Is there another rifle that excepts Glock magazines or is this hopeful wishing? Would i be able to get a conversion kit for a cx4 storm or any type of custom work done to it to be able to do this? Thanks everyone.

Because Beretta wants you to buy their mags, not Glock mags. Why would they want to help their competition?

You could always try modifying a Glock mag to work in a CX4, but most likely you'll just wind up ruining the mag and it won't work in either gun.

I hear there are high-cap mags for the CX4 and know they're available for the Glock, so it comes down to choices. If you like the ergo of the Cx4, look around for high-caps and get it - I've read that they're pretty nice....

They really don't serve any purpose, but they sure are fun to shoot

Why not use one for a good truck gun or HD in say a .40 cal....It could work just as well as an AR15 for such purposes...Maybe not as durable for field work, but to keep in truck or house would work just as good. As for magazine question....Why can't glock make a pistol that will take my Beretta 92 magazines??? Just doesn't make since to me...

olympic arms seems to not be held in high regard here, but they have ar15 models that accept glock mags

Oly Arms is not held in bad regard, but they are at the lower end of the price spectrum for AR's and take some manufactoring shortcuts that don't make much different for civilian shooters. In other words, they make AR's to a price point.

Many AR manufactorers are making 9mm rifles and uppers now. They are very popular for those who want cheaper practice or the ability to use their AR's at indoor pistol ranges.

The only thing I don't like about the CX Storm carbines is the price. I think Beretta fetches too much for their name. But I have not heard anything mechanically wrong with the Beretta carbines. At the current prices I have seen for them, I could buy a basic AR, or a nice AK. I could also buy a fairly nice AK and a Kel-tec carbine or even one of the Keltec SU-16's.

I like Kel-tec for their innovation. Folding rifles and carbines, good pocket pistols that have that clip, and hopefully soon, that 7.62x51mm bullpup. But if it doesn't fit you, it doesn't fit you.

Well, i am not sure. Kel-tec made a rifle that excepts Glock magazines. Why not other companys? It seems strange at first but in reality a very smart marketing technique. I personally feel comfortable with the glock magazines. They seem to be in my experience, one of the most durable and strongest magazines I have ever used(especially the 33 round 9mm factory). I think I sort of hinted on it when i said the Kel-tec was not comfortable but because it excepted Glock mags was almost enough reason to buy it.
Thanks alot on that Olympic tip. I think i might have to look into it a little more. Thanks for the links on the Beretta mag's. I might have to special order one from one of the dealers around town instead of waiting on one. I just wish i could have it both ways. Anyone know how to get ahold of Beretta and let them know i got a marketing idea for them.:)

And I thought it was because you had a lot of Glock magazines and just didn't want to have to buy another maker's mags...I guess I read it wrong.

The CX4 accepts magazines by way of a magazine well insert that's formed to be the right size for the mag in question. You can buy them preconfigured to take M92 mags (the most common), PX4 mags, and Cougar mags. You can order any magazine adapter from Beretta with a simple phone call - they cost about 14 bucks. Older CX4's have a magazine with a reconfigurable catch; Newer ones have 'preset' catches but you can order whatever you like.

Get your CX4 configured for M92 mags and you have a veritable ton of magazine choices from neutered 10 rounders to extended 50's that could double as a monopod, drum mags, and every other feeding gizmo ever designed for the M92, a gun that's been around a good half a century (at least).
