I am in search of a new handgun. After a month of looking and toying with several different guns I have narrowed it down to the PX4 Storm and the SIG 250. I have shot both and both felt good in my hand and I shot them accurately. The PX4 is a .40 and the 250 is a 9mm. I am heading to the shop today to buy one of them, but which one?? Like I said they both felt great, so........ For those of you with any experience with these guns, which would you choose and why?? Any pro's or con's of either gun in your opinion?? Thanks in advance for any help.

I have not fired the Sig. I do like the looks of it alot. I have however fired a PX4 9mm several times and was impressed with the feel. It functioned well and was very easy to "learn". It is a friend's gun and he has been very happy with it. It is a very smooth functioning gun and the rotating action has an unique feel to it that I did not mind in the least. I wish I could offer some experience with the Sig, but can't. I hope you enjoy your purchase either way.

PX4 Storm - definitely!

I really like my PX4 F Storm, which is a 9mm. I also have the matching CX4 carbine, four 17-round and two 20-round magazines that can be interchanged between the two. Fully loaded, I have 110 rounds of ammunition, though the gun belt does get a bit heavy. :D

The PX4 is a very good shooter; easy to maintain, feels great in my hand and is comfortable to carry. The trigger is one of the best I have found and, to top it off, I found mine at Academy for $519.00.

I did look at the SIG, but decided I liked the Beretta better. Like Taurus 9mm said, the choice between a SIG P226 and the Beretta might have been closer but the price differential would buy an awful lot of ammo, so I still would most likely have gone with the PX4.

After shooting both and being an ex-owner of a P250, I would say PX4

The P250 feels great in hand (which is about the only thing I liked more about it) but you have to be good at a DAO trigger. Also, the 9mm versions seem to have some magazine issues. With mine, three different magazines (one that came with it, one from MidwayUSA, and one from SIG Sauer directly) all had the same problem. Out of the box they would lock the slide back just fine, but after letting the magazines sit loaded for about 5 minutes, then unloading them, the slide would no longer lock back. All 3 magazines did this, even when racking the slide manually

Also, as just a personal thing, I suck with a DA trigger. I was a horrible shot with it. PX4 on the other hand, I could shoot it similar to what I can an entry level 1911, which was pretty good! Also the rotating barrel design is not only cool and unique, it sure seems to tame the recoil down. Shooting a .40 PX4 felt like shooting my 9mm Glock 19

Run away from the Sig p250 unless you want to say "i own a sig"... I have never shot the PX4 but i would bet its a nicer gun.

My p250 and others ive shot have had some horrible triggers.

As Strahley said, you would want to understand and want a DAO trigger to like the p250.

I love mine and purchased it because I wanted a DAO trigger. Most complaints about the p250 come from those who dislike the long but smooth, even trigger pull for each shot vs. the DA/SA trigger or SA from other models. I think the PX4 would be a great gun but be careful if you get a "Type D" because that trigger is a DAO also.

I know you have probably already purchased your new family member, but I think another post about the p250 wouldn't hurt because there isn't much out there about them. I bought one over the M&P just because the price was right at the time. However, I have to say that I am glad that I did. I don't have anything against the M&P, but the sig just has such a smooth trigger. Some people aren't used to it and don't like it. That is your preference. Whatever you shoot is what you will get used to and be comfortable with. It is my EDC and I really like the DAO. It is a very comfortable and well made gun. I would suggest shooting one and seeing for yourself.

Let the totals stand..

...

I own 4 Sigs, all DA/SA all metal and, one polymer framed gun, a Beretta Px4 40. And, between the P229/40 (not shown) and the Px4 40, they are the softest, most balanced, accurate, shooters I have had the pleasure of shooting, flawlessly, with over, a combined, 16000 rounds..

Px4 unless you start to think about the 229 or maybe even look into a used 228.

It's hard to beat a good 228.
