If I've been a good little boy I buy myself a gun for Christmas, and this year I bought a used Bergara HMR in 6.5 Creedmoor.I love the Remington 700 action and some of the clones that have shown up.But I've had a bit of a bad attitude about imports.I've jokingly said I don't want any imported cars, guns or women.I do some gunsmithing and rifle tuning and I've worked on and shot several Bergara rifles and I had a hard time finding fault with them. They've all shot quite well and their actions are slick and smooth.
The local gun shop had this HMR on the used rack and it is pristine, owned by the county sheriff, who said it hadn't seen 20 rounds until he traded it for a 6.5 PRC.I took it home and borrowed a set of dies off of my shooting buddy and best friend and got it shooting very good with the second load I tried.I ordered my own dies for it and when I was setting the sizing die up I didn't get it sized down far enough and the case stuck in the chamber and when I tried to extract it,the extractor broke.I looked online and a company makes a billet steel kit for it but they were sold out,so last evening at 7 I sent BPI Outdoors(the importer)an email to see what a new extractor would cost and how long it would take to get it.By 7 this morning,I had an email that said a new extractor would be put in the mail today free of charge. At 4 this evening,I got an email with a tracking number.
I would have to say that's the fastest, nicest treatment that I've ever got from any company I've ever done business with.It didn't matter that I bought the gun used,it didn't matter that it was my fault that the gun broke and the only thing they asked out of me was an address.Hard to beat that kind of service given those circumstances,so my hat's off to Bergara for that.Just wanted to share a good experience.

Good for you. I have several Bergara rifles and have been very happy. My experience with their CS mirrors yours.

I have one in 30-06 that is very smooth and accurate, I purchased it used for a VERY good price with a Vortex scope and the original 2 boxes of bullets that he purchased with the gun and only 8 had been fired. I like it better than my old 700 and Howa 1500s. I'm pleased to hear about your great experience with their customer service and hope I never have to use them.

I have a Premier HMR Pro and really like it; very slick. As I have noted elsewhere, I think Bergara is what Remington should have become if it had had any drive toward innovation. Thanks for the good CS report.

I have to agree with you,if Remington had been able to turn out well made rifles like Bergara has at a fair price, they may still be around. One other 700 clone I tried was a Christensen, and they make a beautiful action that's well done up and feature packed, but the one I had just plain wouldn't shoot. And let's just say their CS wasn't on a par with Bergara's and leave it at that.
