On top of my many reasons why I prefer Xtreme bullets over Berrys Bullets... I have yet another complaint.

Berrys has nothing in stock and has had almost nothing in stock for several months. Xtreme is almost fully stocked...heck they even have a 10% special for the 4th! Im placing my orders now for the forseeable future

Go Xtreme!! Berrys....Booo!

And the last time I stopped in at the Graf's reloading supplies store front, they had quite a bit of Berry's bullets sitting on the shelves. Still no primers though.

While I have shot hundreds of thousands of Berry’s bullets and won many matches using them, I know they are not the most accurate or least expensive bullet out there, just the right compromise for my use of them.

That said, I wouldn’t necessarily take a product being readily available as equating it to greatness. It’s not uncommon for the least desirable products to be the most difficult to move off the shelf.

While I've loaded and shot thousands of Xtreme bullets, I have no issues with Berry's. They may not have anything to sell direct right now, but it sure seems like they're keeping a steady flow going to their distributors.

I just wish Berry's would have some 71 gr 32 acp plated available! That's been back ordered everywhere for a year and a half!

I have been ordering from them for a long time. Always get my orders promptly and always a good product.
Right now they are expensive, compared to other brands. That may be why they are still in stock.
Their plated 158gr SWCs are still one of my favorite bullets for .357magnum.

It's more economical to order Berry's from Powder Valley than from Berry's themselves. Especially if you order 2000+.

I agree. I've shot many tens of thousands of both xtreme and berry's. I use the two interchangeably. I do like xtreme plated HP for closer steel targets. Less splatter amd easier on the targets IMO. But the two are both as you say "the right compromise" IMO. Just cheap and good enough.

I believe I've bought all my xtreme from cabelas/bass pro with my cabelas points I get by using my cabelas card for buisness purchases. They used to run good deals pretty regular. Buy one get one half off plus 100 free brass with each box was one they ran a lot.

Berry's I have bought from several places.

I've been buying the Xtreme from OTLImports, a liquidator. They're auctioning off Xtreme's bankruptcy and overrun production at penny-auction prices. So far, I've picked up 500 100gr. .355" RNFP for .380 @ $41; 500 124gr. .355" HP for 9mm @ $33; 500 155gr. .400" RNFP for .40S&W @ $36; and, 500 200gr. .451" RN for .45ACP @ $58. All NOS, unopened in factory boxes. They're good bullets, I just prefer to bargain hunt vs. paying full retail.

The sad part is that those bargains are more than I ever paid for xtreme bullets at cabelas (one of the most expensive stores known to man) over the past 10 or 15 years. They have always been 40-45 per 500 in .400 or .45 and buy one get one half off. I have even bought them buy one get one. I filled the rear of a Toyota highlander that time. 9mm 40 and 45. Maybe even 44. I took one buggy load. Then after shopping at more stores and pondering I went back. Lol

And for each box you got 100 (may have been 50 actually) free starline brass too. Sadly I screwed around and never sent the rebates in.

Thats pretty much the only shooting related thing I've ever found at a decent price or even bought at cabelas unless you count the bargain cave.

What's even more sad is, until last year the nearest Bass Pro or Cabella's to me was over 100 miles away. Bass Pro opened up two counties away - about a 90 minute drive each way - and they've had next to nothing for reloading since they opened. What they have had has been fair ot middling price wise but, nothing spectacular.

You're real lucky to have had those shopping opportunities and I hope you know it. Count those blessings twice and be grateful. :)

The closest to me was 350 miles for many years. Then they built both, a Cabelas and a Bass pro 5 minutes apart from each other and only an hour and a half from me. (One in VA and one in TN) sadly I live in NC so I can only buy long guns there.... Then when Bass Pro and cabelas did the buy out they closed the Cabelas. Maybe a year after opening. Lol. They are close to the nearest Sam's club so I occasionally stop in. I don't even know if I've been in one since covid though. Didn't figure they had anything. I check the bargain cave online.

I grew up drooling at my uncles Cabelas catalogs back pre-internet. He was a high browed wing shooter. Kept bird dogs and all that. We couldn't have afforded to walk in one but he gave me the catalogs. Nowadays they just aren't so impressive. Lol. Powder and primers were 35 a lb or 1k primers at Cabelas for years. While any gunstore was 1/3. Knives, clothes, etc are also a good bit higher than any online retailer.
