Berrys Preferred plated bullets

has anyone here loaded Berrys Preferred plated bullets into .45 ACP or any other caliber, the only place i can find them is cabelas, and are they any good
 
I've used them and they are fine bullets. I also like Rainier lead safe plated, but are top notch plated bullets.
 
I use so many Berry's Bullets, I have a wholesale account with them. I load them in 9x19, 9x21, .38 Super, .38 Special, 357 Sig, .40 S&W, 10mm, .400 Cor-Bon, .45 acp and .45-70. They make an excellent bullet and are a nice bunch of people to deal with.

I'm using them in .45, 9mm, .38,.357, .40, .32, and 30-30. Am on about my fifth order from them. Have had no problems at all, and shipping is always free. Used mid range loads. Quality and consistency has been excellent.
 
Ditto for Berrys. I used to shoot Raniers, but since trying Berrys bullets I shoot mostly Berry's. I still have some Raniers in 4 calibers. :)
 
I think Graf & Sons has Berry's also...

They're outstanding!

I use .45 ACP and 9mm and they're both fine bullets. Cabelas seems to have the best prices and fortunately, there's a Cabelas in Fort Worth.
 
Been using the Berry 185 RNHB in 45acp for over a year. Actually prefer the Berry to other plated I've tried. Had a thousand delivered from Cabelas yesterday, already loaded 250. Can't recommend high enough.
 
I've used them in my .380 without any problems. However, I did run into some mismatched bullets in one box. The box was supposed to have 100 gr bullets, but I found a couple of 115 gr bullets mixed in. As always when reloading, be careful and pay close attention to the details!
 
For me plated 45 ACP / 40 S&W cost about $72 for 1,000 while jacketed FMJ cost about $130.

I shoot Berry's in 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP and like them for practice. I also tried Rainer but found they had a .006 variance in bullet length, where Berry's had an average of .002, YMMV.

Not that much of a point for 9mm because you can get jacketed bullets for the same or cheaper price from Midway.

We have a Cabelas in Boise and they usually sell them cheaper than Berry's does before the shipping or lead surcharge. Cabelas sells them for about $18 for 250 for 40 and 45 ACP and $12-14 for 9mm.

Zero's at Ghost Holster are a good deal as well and are good bullets. I shoot some Zero's, but shoot more Berry's. My Winess Elite Match in .40 loves the Zero 165 JHP. :)

I found this to be true also....

After consuming my first order from Berry's, I was surprised to see their price had increased. I wound up placing my next order w/ Roze Dist. for 1,000 158 gr. JSP .38 cal. bullets and the total cost was something like $7 more.

Berry's makes a quality bullet....but the plated prices have increased to high to make sense for me.

I think Fred is buying a LOT of bullets (probably >10,000 at a time).

Have out with it Fred.....what's the min. buy for the discount?
 
Stay below 1200fps and they will be fine. They do show signs of instability when using heavy, for the caliber bullets, out of some AET barrels.

My first order from Roze Dist. suprised me. I did not know they were here in Al. and I had to pay sales tax.:eek:
They are a good company and are good to deal with, but for me I'm better off ordering Zero bullets from Ghost Holster.
 
I got hooked up with Berry's at the SHOT Show several years ago. I go to the show whenever it's held in Las Vegas, since that's only a 2 day drive from here. My orders are usually over 10,000 bullets, with the last one being 22,000 bullets, since my shooting partner wanted a couple thousand for himself. I had my FFL for 18 years, but let it expire when I retired, since retirement doesn't allow the extra money working does. Every day is Saturday when you're retired, but every Friday isn't payday..........

If you can get your orders from Berry's to total over 200 pounds, there is a price break on the shipping from UPS. If several people go together to place an order, it's not that hard. Their catalog tells you what the weight is per thousand, so it's easy to keep track of the total weight.

I also buy a lot of plastic boxes from them, since they're cheaper than cardboard and last a whole lot longer.
