for 230gr .45 ACP.

The Berry's FMJ are the same price as the X-treme HP. Is Berry's better & worth a few $ more or are the pretty much the same in quality & consistency?

The berry's double struck FMJ have been excellent for me. I haven't tried the X-treme.

I'm sticking with what I know works.

I didn't have much luck with the X-treme in .40. They tumbled. At today's prices, I'm not inclined to try another caliber.

Berry's, while I've not loaded more than a few thousand, always worked fine.

I've used both X-treme and their predecessor, Western Nevada Bullet. I live in Reno and their plant is just outside Carson City, about a half hour from me. I've used their .45 ACP 200gr SWC & 230 RN along with their 9mm 124 grain FP & RN. They are every bit as accurate for me as Speer, Hornady, etc. They gave me some .223 55 gr FMJ samples and they look good also. Haven't had time to load and test them yet.

I have used both along with Rainier and PowerBond plated bullets. I like the plating quality on X-Treme bullets and consistency.

IMO, if you are looking for better than jacketed accuracy, Berry's HBRN-TP bullets wins hands-down.

i,'ve shot 1000 of each in .40s&w .. I can't tell the difference. Xtreme is a bit cheaper so that's all I buy now. I use xtreme for .40, 44mag, and 223rem.

I buy my bullets from TJ Conevera's and started off with Berry's in .40 180 grn. and .45 230 grn. I switched over to X-treme bullets last order because they were a few bucks cheaper. To me the X-treme bullets have a much more uniform plating than the Berry's, accuracy is about the same out of my 1911 and Glock 30 for both bullets.

I have shot the Berrys 230 Gr, and it shoots well for me. The Berrys 185 Gr HBRN is worth a try as well. My 1955 target sure likes them. I will buy more of them when I run out.

I have not shot the X-Treme 230 Gr RN offering, but have shot some other X-Treme bullets, and have had good luck with them.

I would buy whichever you can get cheaper.

I have loaded and shot 2000 XTreme 230gr RN .45acp so far this year. I have my 3rd box setting on my bench as I type this. I have also loaded 1500 38spl SWC XTreme bullets for my wife. She has gone thru about half if them. So far I have been very satisfied with them to this point. I plan on buying 500 40s&w in 180gr RNFP next week to test. I purchased 4000 FN FMJ Precision Delta bullets last Oct. I really like them but want to try XTreme out for extra savings.

I'm like Hogpauls, I shoot both and I get them from the same place. (I'm a whore for free shipping :)) I'm a fan of both and the only trouble I've ever had is when I over crimped some one time. Don't ask, just don't over crimp... It will effect the accuracy of the bullet. I just ordered some X-TREME 180g hollow points and 115g RN bullets yesterday the 180g HP's will be my first of these to load.
