Best 1911 for under $1500? TRP?

I'd suggest taking a good look at the SIG 1911 line-up. I especially like the TTT and STX models. In my experience, S&W also make well-made, reliable 1911 pistols. And it's true that getting a Colt is probably never a bad idea. I'm sure there's a lot of other nice 1911 pistols out there-I'm just referencing those that I've had personal experiences with.
