Im sure this has been on here before but I just want to see what everyones paying for 40 S&W fmj ammo these days.
I bought some armscor fmj reloads from bigdogammo.com for about $12.30 per box of 50. That was the best deal ive found online.
Today I bought some CCI blazer brass from Wal-Mart for about $12.47 per box of 50.
What is everyone else paying?

Thats about what I paid at walmart for the blazer brass, its $14.99 a box at sportsmans wharehouse here when they have it. Walmart has the most ammo and best prices around here, and I dont like going to walmart but I'm not gonna pay $18-$22 a box for target.

Check out ammoman.com he's out of quite a bit right now but he sells in bulk and generally has a nice selection. His prices are very good as well and include shipping :) Can get like 1000 rnds of decent practice stuff for 400 bucks. I guess that's not supper cheap. Just depends I suppose they have some cheaper stuff normally but it's out of stock right now. I just like it because I can order a large quantity and not have to run to the store every time I want to go to the range.

blaser brass at wal mart is the best prices that i have found. i reload so it has been a while since i have bought factory ammo.

reloading 1000 rounds my costs are as follows.
Batch Cost = $120.21

Batch Cost per Round = $0.120
Batch Cost per 20 Rounds = $2.40
Batch Cost per 50 Rounds = $6.01
Batch Cost per 100 Rounds = $12.02

this is for primers bullets and powder , I already have the brass
moral of the story?

Reloading can save money.

Reloading can save money.

Let me start by saying that I couldnt agree more with this statement but, you forgot the most important variable in your calculation YOUR TIME! Since I do not reload, how long would it take a person to load 1000 rounds of ammo with a single stage press?

I can reload 1000 rounds of 40 S&W ammo for about $120.:) On my 4-Hole turret press, I spend about 2 hours every weekend, loading 100 rounds. Ranier bullets are 10 cents/bullet and my Wolf primers are 2 cents/bullet. The powder is free, as I got an 8lb Keg of Unique for Christmas.:D This works out to 12 cents/round.:) I already had the brass, as I shot a couple thousand factory fiocchi loads, a couple years ago.

10,000 Wolf Small Pistol primers = $210
8 lbs Unique = Free!
2000 Ranier bullets = $185

but, you forgot the most important variable in your calculation YOUR TIME!

it's the same do nothing time I would spend watching the boob tube if I was so inclined. so time =free just like any other hobby.

I have a good amount for sale on this board currently. Check out he ad...Blazer Brass/Ranger JHP's/ etc.
