Best 9mm Pistol for Self Defense?

I would have to see you shoot to analyze if your grip was causing malfunctions in the recoil system, sometimes it's that simple.

The handguns you mentioned are all good guns. I think you should try them all before you decide. No one has brought up the S&W, SD 9. It started life as the Sigma, but is now on it's 4th. Gen. It is alot like a glock but has better ergonomics. It costs less & is very reliable & accurate. It is about the same size as a glock 19 & holds 17 rds. Because of the problem with your hands I feel you might want to try it. It is more comfortable than the glock to hold & I have not seen any major complaints other than the trigger. If the trigger is a problem its a cheap fix. I have owned & shot glocks since they came out & believe they are great handguns, but when I grab a 9mm now, it is most often my S.D.! Check one out.

All good choices. Never had a Glock, but they are famous for reliability. Had a CZ75 Semi Compact that was totally reliable and accurate. Still have an Israeli surplus Hi Power, vintage 1993. The newer Hi Powers (mine included) are totally reliable with all 9mm ammunition types, including Plus P and hollow points. My High Power is scheduled for a trigger job when the budget permits. The standard trigger is a little crunchy because of the magazine safety link. Older High Powers have reported problems with hollow points. If you are buying a new weapon, the CZ and the Glock are the least expensive.

Of the pistols you have listed, I would pick up the H&K. I haven't read all the threads so I'm not sure if you were talking home defense or conceal carry. I have a 9mm Colt Defender for my conceal carry and highly recommend.
