Best barrel for a G20 bear loads?

@MFInc good luck with your build. I just bought a gen5 G20 and plan on leaving it stock with the exception of the Red Dot.
Are you planning on a longer than stock barrel? Just curious.
Enjoy your build!

I have contemplated the 6" barrel. I'm not really a fan of how long the slide is on those. or the 2-3 inches of barrel sticking out if you use the small frame 20 slide with it. I've seen a "tactical" length barrell that is like 5.1" but then I run into the hanging out thing unless i get the "tac" slide to go with it.
I do plan on running a red dot, and probably a light. Thanks

230 grains as opposed to 200, but the immediate effect of using the button rifled barrel vs the glock is pretty obvious:

I also reload, so the thought of a better supported chamber in 10mm gives me the warm fuzzies.

Very well could be the heavier bullet causing the inaccuracy. Most are 180 and 200. I’m taking 200s to Alaska.

I was watching that video last night haha.

I change out RSA with Underwood ammo .. just to protect the pistol.. I run the factory barrel ..
UW Hard cast .. runs fine .. I never tried the 220gr stuff though…. But … I no longer use their hardcast , now I use their 200gr FMJ … less expensive and works the same

no optic .. steel ..3 dot sights …

Unless you want to suppress the pistol, why a threaded barrel?

I have ran a KKM out of a G20 with no fitting required and it shot 220 gr Underwood hard cast just fine.

My current G40 has a factory barrel and shoots the same Hardcast load with no issues and is accurate enough for me. It also shoots an over the limit 800 X 180 grain with absolutely no Glocksmiles or any difference in chamber support (that I can see with a naked eye) on the brass as the KKM barrel did.

I contacted Glock ... Here’s the answer they gave me:

"Glock firearm are rated up to and including +P rated ammunition that also meets SAAMI industry standards. Only jacketed ammunition is recommended."
Of course that's what firearm manufacturer/legal talk will say. They also do not recommend shooting reloads.

Guess what thousands of Glock match shooters shoot on a weekly basis all around the world? Yes, mostly reloads and many plated/coated lead bullets.

I'm a strong believer in Hardcast bullets for penetration with wilderness defense. I also believe that good hollow points should be used for personal defense.

That said, I am liking the Xtreme Penetrator loads for a all around defense load. My only concern is finding heavier bullets (180 range) in wilderness carry cartridges.

I put a Lonewolf barrel in my G20 and have shot all kinds of ammo with no problems and good accuracy. I shoot my own 200gr. handcast frequently. Shoots them well using Blue Dot or 800X. Best wishes

I've shot 10mm through Glock for 20 years. I have a 6 inch kkm from my "never use lead" "Glock bulge" days. I used it for hunting. Still do. Never an issue.

Since then I've shot over 100k rounds through the stock Glock barrel. Lol. Gen 3 shooting 180 lead at 1400 or 200 xtp at 1200. 200 lead at near 1200, and a crap load of 180 bvac and Georgia. Never a case blown out. Never leaded. I don't find the kkm to be any appreciable amount more accurate at 100 yards either. Even with the red dot I ran for a while.

I have blown up 2 1911 with the same assortment.

My bad. I had a senior moment and got kkm and bar-sto confused.
Wow , big bold statements.
Totally disagree
Kinda of going at things backwards there imho
If you have to ask it’s beyond your purview .

So helpful and informative.

KKM Bar-Sto I could see how one could easily confuse the 2 brands especially when you’re staring at it the whole time you’re fitting it . And yet Bar-Sto does not sell drop in barrels , clearly states it . Just checked the web site ( maybe it’s beyond your purview) . Gunsmith fit or semi fit . Have I bought a Bar Sto Gunsmith fit barrel ? Why yes , 3 of them . Have I bought a Bar Sto semi-fit ? Yes I have . Lone Wolf barrels that you seem to like ? Yes I bought 1 . It was a drop in that required no fitting . It was just as loose as the factory barrel and surprise surprise it did not improve accuracy at all . The Bar Sto semi fit (same Glock) took less than hour to fit and groups shrank in size by half . If you’re going to be snarky and condescending at least get your facts straight and include all of the information.
