Looking for the "Buy the best and only cry once" sort, what say the bench rest gurus?

Not a bench rest guru but check out the excellent selection of bore guides at Sinclair International. Lots of their product line appeals to some of the real hard core precision shooter / reloader folks. A couple friends and myself have several of their bore guides and other stuff among us and it's all first rate stuff that I would recommend to anybody.

i don't know that it matters all that much, but i like the ones that have an o ring on the part that goes into the chamber, to keep any liquid from coming back into the action, and also i like the port on the back that allows you to put a dry patch on your jag and insert it into the guide and then squirt solvent on the patch through the port. this is preferable to squirting solvent on the patch and then trying to insert it into the guide without dripping on the stock etc

I like the possum hollow bore guide, they have an o ring, fit well and are not terribly expensive

The absolute best bore guide, so far, is and has been the Barrel Saver by T.K. Nollan. Price starts a $190. for standard actions (Rem, etc) and over $200. for others. The guide fits the action and chamber, and a fitted guide within the guide aligns the cleaning rod. Top end benchrest shooters and other accuracy specialists swear by them. Problem is, however, that T.K. has announced that he will take no more orders after first of year. Another loss to the shooting world. I'm glad I bought three more sets as spares.

I will see if I can get in under the line. Otherwise, I am trying to sort out the Sinclair 2 piece, insert with o ring by caliber,. and another insert according to rod diameter.

Have the Pro-Shot. Has the O-ring and chemical slot. Very well made with excellent fitment and reasonably price in the mid 20s. Rarely use it (lol).

Been using the Sinclairs for 40 years...Do have a high priced , custom made guide for my 6.5x47 Lapua though. It's no better than the Sinclairs in my eyes...just 3X as much money.
