Sounds like you are describing the P239. It's just small enough to carry but big enough to shoot fast and accurately. They are on the heavy side so a strong belt and good holster is key.

The P239 sounds like it'd fit. I briefly owned one before giving it to a friend. The only thing that kept me from liking it more than my current carry choice (a USPc .40) was it being a single stack. Pretty solid pistol if you're comfortable with the lowish ammo capacity.

I would have to go with the P-239 as well, though my P-229E2 is also quite nicely suited for CCW work.

The sig 228 is awesome. I love it I got mine in a trade. it was a swiss police trade in and it works great all around, geting harder to find, but they are around.
