Call me crazy, but I like the simplicity and consistency of a pure DAO pistol. No manual safety (or leave it off if it's there), no variation in the trigger pull, just pull the trigger and it goes bang, the same way, with the same feel, every time.

So, which is the best DAO pistol from the point of view of the trigger pull, weight, feel, length, smoothness, etc.?

Yes, I know that single-action, cocked-and-locked gives a clean, consistent trigger pull, but I am asking about DAO. And please don't say "my S&W 642" since this is the Handguns: Autoloaders forum. :neener:

My early-model Kahr K9 has the best DAO trigger I've ever experienced.

I like the Sig DAK

It is a little long but the pull is smooth. It also has a shorter stroke after the first shot.

I like my Kahr trigger very much. I wish it had second strike capability (though I've never had a failure to fire).

My S&W 1917 (Brazil contract) revolver also has an awesome DA trigger. It was that way when I bought it, and the main spring looks original, but I cannot believe it was made that way.

I like my S&W 5946, but the trigger pull on the SIG 250 is really impressive.

K9 kahr

The trigger on my K9 kahr and also on my PM9 after an action job by cylinder and slide is also awsome, but still the Para LDA trigger IMO is even better. No complaints though from either of my kahrs. They do have a super trigger system, extremely simple and if one desires, eh can even orfer the 5# striker spring from wolffs gunsprings for his kahrs and oh my what a difference that makes also...Simply drops in to.

My S&W 5946 has a great trigger. It's comparable to my old Model 10 and it's only going to get better with more use.

3rd Generation S&W, pre-TSW autos.

Actually, the early TSW's - like the 4056 - feature the 3rd Gen DAO action as well...

As far as the best - give what I own - I would rank them in this order:

1. Kahr Elite series (stainless frame)
2. S&W xx46, xx56, and xx86 series (stainless frames)
3. SiG DAK (alloy frame)
