I saw some Springfield 9mm XD's at $395 at the Houston Reliant gunshow last weekend. I think it is a good gun - Probably the best for the $.

My thoughts exactly...I am a big fan of the XD.

Pics??? Ha. Who do you think I am?? Bill Gates?!? ;) That's way to much for me to even think of doing. I have the computer skills of a 96 year old Amish guy. I impress myself daily by just submitting these post. By the way I feel like an ass. I did NOT get the CZ 75, what I got was the 85 with ambi controls. Must have been so excited I posted the wrong model. Please forgive me. Thanks for all of the replies.

How about a Sig Pro in either 9mm or .40 S&W. I believe you could find those reasonably priced.

If you are a 1911 kind of guy you might want to keep an eye out for a Norino. The Norinco is a chinese version made to the exact specs of the Colt 1911, is made totally of solid forged steel and has a very accurate chrome lined barrel. Having the exact specs as a Colt 1911 makes it a great foundation to build into a race gun or match shooter. Many people that have done so have even kept the original barrel claiming it is as accurate as anything match grade they own.

About a year ago I happened across one for $350 and have loved it. I had the intention of building it up into a match grade shooter but, like others, I found it extremely accurate just the way it was. So for now I've kept it in its original condition.

You'll be lucky if you find anything at the show. Most of the time prices at gunshow are over price.

Are you familiar with Ohio gun shows? All of my great deals have come from Ohio gun shows.

There are no big pawn shops who have much of a selection in my area. There are no big box stores (except for Bass Pro) who handle hand guns. Traditional gun stores are certainly not the place for great deals. Sometimes local auctions can yield bargins. The market is pretty level in online stores and auctions.

Gun shows here are highly competitive and there are plenty of FTF sales, private table sellers, and even some FFL dealers who make some decent deals. Sure one has to go to more than one show a year, but the deals are there. Luck? The harder I work, the luckier I get. poppy

I am going to a gun show tomorrow and have allocated myself 400 bucks to spend on a gun. I already have a revolver so I won't be getting another just yet. Also, I go to an indoor target range so a rifle is out. What is the best gun that I will be able to buy? (Shotgun/Autoloader). Thanks for the advice fella's.
I think the 44 mag.is sexy it does a lot and shes a beauty..

Rock Island Armory plain jane GI style 1911 for $319. Most owners love 'em, some report a few problems,. Mine is 100%.

Well, I vote for the P Series too, new or used. If your just dying for an autoloader shotgun, then more power to you, but my search for a good shotgun began and ended with a Remington 870, and I am very, very satisfied with it. Back to pistols, if your set on new, give the Taurus 24/7 a look. I really, love Rugers and all, but I have a 24/7 and I think its a great gun, and you occasionally see them around $290.00 or so on sale (or at least here in Colorado you see them that low). If your willing to buy used, your options open up considerably. You think a new Mak is cheap? Look at a used one! Trust me on this one man, if your willing to be patient and look at used guns there are more good guns at or below your price range than you can shake a stick at.

Look for a Great Used Browning Hi Power or a new FN Hi Power...

Happy Hunting!

Thanks for all of the replies fellas..... really....but I got the cz a week and a half ago. But thanks again for your opinions.:)
