I was wondering what the best gun out of the box is. Is it a shotgun or a rifle or is it a muzzel loader. I find myself asking these questions because my buddys and I were talking about that and couldnt find an anwser. I want to know the brand and model of the gun. I would thank anyone that would reply to this post so that the argument can be over. Thank you

It depends on who you ask, what the gun is for, and some other things. And is there a price range you are asking about or just, any gun?

Best gun for what? Self defense, hunting, target shooting, what? Obviously, a rifle would not be good for shooting clay pigeons, and a shotgun would not be too good for shooting groundhogs at 150 yards!

Your question really can't be answered as stated. Guns are all, to a certain extent, specialized tools. A shotgun can't be used for precision marksmanship and makes a poor plinker. An single shot .177 caliber spring piston air rifle makes a poor home defense tool, nor would a soldier carry one into battle. You don't shoot clay or meat pigeons on the wing with a handgun. You won't see anyone spend multiple thousands of FRNs putting pretty walnut on an AK and getting it engraved (unless you're Saddam Hussein ).:D

HK P7m8

But that is JUST because
IT fits my hand better than a glove.
She has for me the best point of aim for me less than 7/8" from barrel to index finger.
I like the squeeze cock ie hold firmly in my hand.
Small BUT not a mouse gun.
flat
once squeezed the trigger FOR ME is butter.
first layer
fast and handy
but just first layer

You should throw the word "Best" out of your gun vocabulary. Different guns have different applications and cannot be reduced down to one best anything.

Anyone who tells you that there is a "best" gun is either uninformed or talking out of their lower orifice. It is just their opinion in their circumstance.

Think about it this way, there are race cars, 4x4s, diesel rigs and ambulances. They all serve different purposes and when you need one, no other will suffice.

The best gun in the world, surprisingly enough, is a LeMat revolver. It's a percussion revolver that was made in belgium during the US civil war. It holds nine rounds of .42 caliber ammunition, and one sixteen gauge, short-barreled shotgun. Has a little steel nib on the bottom of the grip, for attaching a lanyard or for whacking someone.

A great big pistol with a scattergun/large caliber smoothbore barrel-- combining all the useful attribues of rifle, pistol, shotgun, musket, and Indian war club. Pretty classy looking too.

So, now you know.:D

I have a different list for all types of guns. If I understand your question right its a 870 Shotgun in my mind !! Very dependable and lots of uses.

This question is somewhat similar to the "pick one gun for the rest of your life" thread. My answer here is the same: The best gun for general all around use is the Rem 870.

So far the best gun I've ever picked up, straight out of the box and it do everything expected of it and have no short coming as I've discovered is a Glock G22. It had good combat accuracy, fit my hand well, was cost effective, and offered everything a full size duty style pistol should.
