As someone who's shot more than a few cans, and owns more than a few cans, if you want quiet, I'd go with a 22. IF you want centerfire, a 9mm. The cans for most 45's aren't that great, unless you get one with a lot of volume, ie length. Although, AAC/Gemtech/somebody, is working on a 45 pistol can that's supposed to actually quiet the report.
