Im looking to get a very high cap 9mm, something that holds more than 17rds. I dont want those extended mags hanging out of it either.

Im thinking between a PX4 with 20rd mags and a CZ SP01 with 19rd mags. Are there any others? What would you recommend?

Both of those mags "hang out" they are just disguised with thicker floorplates and plastic.

Flush fit mag capacity for the CZ is 16 rounds, 17 on the PX4-9, 17 on the M&P-9 and 17 for the G17, and 17 for the Beretta 90-Two.

well, you know what i mean. i want a quality mag, pref. factory that forms to the gun.

You can always buy a G17 and get the +2 mag extensions which will give you 19+1 capacity and won't look bad on the bottom.

Hi-est cap mags I know of specifically made for a pistol are those 33 round dealier bobbers for the Glock 18, but since you don't want them to hang past the grip, I'd probably look at the G17 w/ +2 extensions...19+1 is a lost of rounds between reloads ;)

Mec-gar makes 17 round mags for most modern 9mm pistols...so there's a lot of choices :)

that's an _interesting_ question.
Could you tell us why you'd want such a thing? I'm just not seeing many situations where you'd need more than 17 rounds and mind having a magazine longer than usual.

CZ75 SP01
They are listed as 18, however once the springs take a set they are 19.

I have 2 mags that I tinkered with that hold 20 and function normally (well).

I have an SP01 so I recommend that. Mecgar also makes 18rd flush fit and 20rd base pad style mags for the 92FS.

Mec-Gar makes flush-fit 18-rounders for the Beretta 92. I have some, and they really are flush fit. The catalog number is MGPB9Z18. Check with the guys at Top Gun Supply.

I can think of 3 off the top of my head

Taurus 24/7 Pro = 17+1
Sigma is 16+1 but you can buy the 17 round mags from S&W
Taurus PT92 = 17+1

:what: haha, do I need a reason? how about im American and I can?

Thanks for the replies guys. Im gonna go hold a PX4 in 9mm. Their 20rd mags are plentifull at about $25 each. Im having a hard time finding the 19rounders for the CZ.

Do you have a picture of the PX4 with a 20 round mag in it? I dont remember ever seeing what it looks like with the extra capacity mags in there.

The PX4 and CZ are really nice guns. You can't go wrong with either one. You just need to decide whether you want plastic or metal.

:D

to put kellyj00 on edge some more, im gonna say the PX4 concleals better. :neener:

Ive heard lots of good things about the PX4, but ive also heard some issues with it, plastic parts breaking and FTF. could be sloppy QC and overloading production... you ever had a gunshop salesman get pist off at you for dissasembling thier guns? I like to take them apart and look them over really good before I buy them.

by the time I fire off 15 rounds out of my xd 9mm I'm thinking "hmmm, this is getting boring"

Then again though, I love my 1911....they hold 8 rds without an extended mag. There's just something about the recoil of a .45acp that makes sparks up my Y chromosome.

Depends on what you want the gun to do, otherwise, as well. Range gun? CCW? Etc.

For something you're not planning on carrying concealed, the SP-01 is hard to beat. For the cost of a Glock 17, you get a solid steel handgun that is about as fast as anything you can get that is not set up exclusively for ISPC competition shooting. That steel frame, especially that forward rail, really take the 9mm round's minimal recoil to begin with and make it just about negligible. Fastest non-.22 caliber gun back on target that I own, at any rate.

But, if you're thinking CCW, I'd say look elsewhere, much as I like the SP-01. You can get holsters that will hold it, but better invest in some suspenders to go with your belt if you're going to wear it in an IWB or OWB.
