Best IWB for a 1911 Commander?

Been carrying a pocket 9 for about a year, but would rather carry my 1911. Looking for opinions on the best IWB to do this. Have looked at the King Tuk in person, and pictures of the Crossbreed and Minotaur online. Would like to hear thoughts and opinions on any and all 1911 Commander IWB holsters. Thanks.

I've been carrying the Kimber CDP Pro in a Milt Sparks Versa Max II and love it. It is comfortable, and presents great.

I've also heard a lot of good about both the Minotar, and the Crossbreed II.

Another vote for the Sparks Summer Special. It is about as good as it gets for IWB with a 1911.

I'm pretty old school and my IWB rig for a 1911 is the Milt Sparks Summer Special...this is the iconic IWB holster designed by Bruce Nelson and copied by everyone.

Sparks' product improved IWB rig is the Versa Max II which is more comfortable as it spreads the weight between wider anchor points

For my Colt Combat Commander in 9mm, I'm extremely pleased with my IWB holster by Horseshoe Leather. The holster fits or rides nicely, and the snaps are the ticket for putting on and removing. Other than a quality product, Andy is a real gentleman who answers ALL his emails, and his turn around is acceptable for being across the big pond.

Can any of you post some photos of holsters "in use"? Just want an idea of how they sit/ride/attach etc. Went to my local shop today but they didn't have anything. They did have a Colt Defender that I fell in love with...Didn't bring it home, but a guy can't have too many 1911s.

Crossbreed. It's thin, secure and the flat, seamless leather against the body is very comfortable. I tweaked mine some.

I pretty much always used a Blade Tech IWB with my Commander. Reasonably priced, and last forever. Pretty much eliminates the rust risk too.

Having said that, I recently bought 2 Kaluban Cloaks for my Walther PPQs (Kydex Pancake Style) and I’m very, very impressed both with the quality and service. The KCs are modular similar to the Rave Concealment, but without the wait. They go from IWB to OWB by simply changing hardware, and there’s a bunch of different options to include a paddle.

Another vote for Crossbreed, which my wife and I both use for our EMPs and I also have for my Sig P250. They're comfortable compared to any of my other brands, and tuckability, even if you don't always use it (I almost always do), is a great added feature. Seems like the wide platform is both more stable for carry and draw and helps break up the outline and reduce visible printing too. Spend the extra ten bucks and get the J-clips.

Mine is a VMII, but if you don't want to wait 6+ months then I would try a Galco V Hawk @ opticsplanet.

I use an Alessi PCH model for my Kimber compact STS .45 ACP. It is very thin, stable and extremely well made. I have been told by friends and family who know I carry concealed that they cannot tell even in shorts and a Tshirt that I am armed. Here are some pics.

"best" is tough to attain, but I really like my CrossBreed SuperTuck

don't forget a real gunbelt, the "best" belt holster will flop around and be useless if you hang it off the cheap belt you bought at <department store>
