My favorite 1911 is the one I just picked up this week. Price was right for a 1917 Colt with no armorer marks that appears to be all original. The gun feels fairly tight even though the finish is gone. This gun is beautiful to me!

I'm going to say I think while Ed Brown makes probably the best looking 1911's overall, the one single best looking 1911 to me is a DW Valor in black.

The best looking 1911 is the one you own. Sure there may be ones with bling or better equipment inside, but, you can't shoot them now can you.

So on that note, I like a texas 1911.

I think the Les Baer with the full length dust cover (monolith?). Looks really smooth

i'm digging the one angelina shot in "WANTED"

Did she have a gun in that movie? :D

The one(s) you own are THE prettiest but they are all pretty. The basic original design was so right the first time. Variations on that theme would have to be egregious to ruin the handsome lines of the gun. The only down side to so many different models is that most of us don't have the budget or the room to have them all.

If you like "in the white", hard chrome is good. Tends to stay pretty even if you carry the gun in a holster.

That Detonics combat Master looks exceedingly interesting! Got anymore to tell on that one? What's with the oddball sights?

I just saw a short write-up of the Kimber Super Carry series. I have spent the last 24 hours drooling over pics of the Super Carry Pro model. 4" barrel, two tone, bobbed grip frame. I have a serious jones for this pistol, and absolutely no money to satisfy my longing. Is there a methadone program for kicking this habit or what?
