I don't have a picture of it yet, my wife just put it on layaway, yesterday, but she fell in love with a Model 65-5LS. at out local pusher yesterday.

For those that don't know, that's a 3" barrel, SS, fixed sight, K-frame, 357 magnum, "Ladysmith". Beautiful rosewood grips, and satin stainless steel finish. It didn't look like it had been fired.

Normally I don't care for stainless steel guns, but even if she hadn't wanted this one, I would have. That was one pretty gun. I would have loved to have had the box and papers with it.

The 4” Model 19 for sure. With the old-school S&W bright blue and case-hardened hammer and trigger, adjustable sights, and smooth wood grips, this has got to be the classiest looking handgun in the world. It’s certainly the one which pops into my head when I hear the word, ‘gun’, the platonic ideal of gun if you will. When I hold one it’s hard to believe that these were at one time made in the tens of thousands and issued to beat cops because it feels like a handcrafted work of art instead of the mass-produced weapon it is. I wish S&W would bring back the K-frame magnums but made with improved modern metallurgy to eliminate the forcing cone issue, but that’s probably a pipe dream.

The blued N-frames look good in pictures but in to me they feel really big and awkward. The Model 27 in particular looks kind of disproportionate with those tiny .357 pinholes in that massive cylinder. Nope, make my magnum a perfectly balanced Model 19.

I can't seem to find it now on any searches, but back in the 60's, S&W ran an advertisement black & white photo of a K-22 lying on it's side in several gun magazines. It was such a seductive and artistic photo, it changed my whole perspective on the looks and beauty of a DA revolver. In other words, it seduced me. I still, to this day, think a bright blued 6 inch S&W K-22 is one sexy beast.

Nice to view - nicer to shoot:

Long sought - finally found:

There can be beauty in modern SS S&W's!

There really is nothing like a 3.5" Model 27... that polished bluing is gorgeous. Any 4" N-frame is great, too.

I've got two snub 66's, 66-2 and a 66-5 and both are so clean looking and dandy little shooter's. Even with heafty H110/296 handloads they feel sturdy, and have proven to be such.
