Looking to sell my Winchester 1876 40/60. I am a lover of fine antique rifles but I want to build myself an AR platform and not skimp on a thing. To do this I've been considering selling a couple of my collection pieces. Seeing how I live in 29 Palms and am far removed from many reputable appraisers/dealers my next best option is selling online (which I have no experience with) I'd like your opinions on sites/techniques for getting your money's worth with online sales. Thanks in advance!

When I want to move something quick, I put a price on it that is at the bottom of it's range of value and post it in a forum. If I want to squeeze out every possible cent and I can be patient, I try gunbroker.

I'd recommend either consigning to Rock Island or Simpsons Ltd. if it's truly a high-value collector piece, because Gunbroker is rife with perpetual, high-reserve listings of highdollar guns most collectors don't want to risk without seeing firsthand. Still, any of the above will work well.

Personally, I like Gunbroker, but for a newbie it may not be the best starter item.

Also, if you don't have a Cody Firearms Museum origin/details letter, I'd recommend getting one if possible- it adds value to the piece.
